So you are MW, getting some abuse about not changing things, key players out of form. Do you change the style? Personally with Dickie being out of form and far from impressed by Sanderson I would be inclined to go 4 at the back and select:

Uncs Chair McCullum
Gray
Unc's and McCullum both capable of good deliveries but also able to drop in and support the full backs.

Dave Mc did a thread of Tweets recently that was, as usual for him, spot on. There are eight games left now, they're reasonably spaced out, I think you get together a core of your players, stuff that has worked for us before, and you go with that for the eight games. I agreed with him on the team as well bar perhaps Austin and Gray.

I think for Fulham he'll go with an extra midfield player, we played 2 up front against them away and got torn apart in midfield so I'd go

Obviously your wing backs push on to provide the attacking width. Field sits as Dickie and Barbet split wide and support the build up when the ball is on their side. Amos is your box to box midfielder. Chair and Johansen are your creators, but the former must move the ball quick and earlier, especially in crossing positions, and the latter must work harder on and off the ball.
A little left field, and probably unpopular, but I think you could make a case for Dozzell over one of Chair or Johansen, with him playing with Field as the QB, Amos doing the running and the remaining player, probably Chair, playing off the forward. That was the shape (one 10, Amos box to box, 2 CMs behind) that thrashed Reading, albeit it was Willock off Dykes, not Chair or Johansen.
I’d always have Wallace over McCullum. He reads the game far better, especially when we have possession and creates so many good overlaps. |  | | |

This is a good shout. I would have Adomah instead of Moses as well. I just think he offers a lot more in attack. Agree about Wallace too. We have to take the game to Fulham. |  |

There was an evening game, two in fact, pre Christmas, where he played central midfield and made an excellent tracking run all the way to the byline (through the back line) to snuff out danger. He’s very quick. Maybe Blackburn or Birmingham. Think the other might have been Luton. He played alongside Johansen in the middle and everyone near me was commenting on how much ground he was covering, how he was doing the job of two, etc.
I’m sure he’s made a number of mistakes and let players run off him though. But i think he is significantly better defensively than Johansen now. Simply put he can track runners (if he sees them and tries) and he’s quick. Johansen can’t track midfield runners if he wanted to (which I’m unconvinced about) and he’s not quick.
Johansen further forward as one of the two behind the 9 has lots to offer. Deeper, I think Dozzell has more to offer. Think he’s improved through the season until he drifted out of the picture with Hendrick’s arrival. | | | |

I think you are right regarding Dozells ability to track runners but his consistency is woeful, sometimes he looks a real gem and the very next match he looks completely lost. Hopefully the coaches can sort out the consistency issues so he can become a regular starter next season |  | | |

Can't really disagree with Dave Mc. 8 games left, go with what got you to this place (Warbs has made a point of highlighting that these players got us to 7th).
The back 3 picks itself, there will be reasons to play each of the wing backs in particular games
For me it HAS to be Field and Johansen as the two midfielders. None of the others have consistently produced enough this season.

He was good earlier in the season but has really dropped off. I thought defensively he was really poor in the last 2 games and at Coventry as well and that's something he needs to work on. His lack of desire to get back in the last game was really poor, was walking back for the 1st goal and the game seemed to pass him by.

Agree with dave mc's view (which i don't always) apart from Austin. I love Austin, but he can't be anywhere near starting in this team. He looks totally shot, whether that's temporary and he could get into amazing shape this summer and have a golden final year I don't know, but if Dave's talking about 'who got you here' it's not Austin. It was this time last year, when I thought he was excellent and was all in favour of his signing, but he's got steadily worse all season.
If fit, it has to be Dykes, no question. *Maybe* if you play two up top, Dykes and Austin or Gray. |  |
