J Ayew on 00:19 - Jan 2 by Dr_Parnassus | I was banned under the last regime because I wouldn’t change my opinion that Jordan Ayew was our best player. It really angered some that I preferred Ayew to Gylfi to the point the scruffy bloke banned me. Ayews market value is now double or treble that of Gylfi’s. [Post edited 2 Jan 2022 0:53]

So did you know about Gylfi's court case/alleged dodgy dealings years ahead of time or what? That's the only reason Jordan Ayew's "market value" is higher now.

I loved Gylfi .I had had no idea as to his private life though. Ayew was rather sulky and needs handling. We didnt and dont have a coach that can do that efficiently. Anyway,we'd all rather slag each other off.

I didn’t no, but I knew he was a better player.

They were similar in that they could both win you the game in an instant, however I think Gylfi was far more likely to do it more often than Ayew.

If you changed the way your team plays to incorporate him then maybe. Everything we did went through Gylfi, he was set up to score/assist. Everytime we had the ball we looked for him, which is a large reason why we struggled so badly. If I was creating a team tomorrow and I had the choice of Gylfi or Ayew (unsavoury allegations aside) then I pick Ayew every day of the week. If I picked Gylfi then I would have to start figuring out who else I pick that would compliment him as he is so limited elsewhere - you don’t have that issue with Ayew. It’s no coincidence he didn’t succeed at Spurs or at Everton, he was asked to fit into the team there as opposed the team being asked to fit around him.

J Ayew on 14:11 - Jan 2 with 997 views | jasper_T | It's not like he flopped at Everton like Ashley Williams did. Played 27, 38, 35, 36 PL games in the four seasons he had prior to this one. Scored more goals there than Ayew has for Palace as well. Personally I'd find it harder to accommodate a forward who doesn't score or assist than a set piece specialist like Gylfi. Both worked hard when they felt like it, but Jordan rarely did with us.

Not just about scoring goals or playing matches though is it. It’s about playing well. He takes free kicks and shoots from long range, he will tend to score a few - doesn’t make him an excellent player though. He is extremely slow in both pace and thought, he slowed everything down with us and did the same for Everton. He was good in his second season at Everton, the rest of the time he was not good at all. Everton fans were very vocal of their dislike for Gylfi and what he brought to the team. You will rarely find such widespread views of Jordan Ayew. I’m not saying Gylfi is a bad player either, but he’s certainly not an excellent one. Jordan Ayew I would say is very close to an excellent player.

We have Gylfi to thank for keeping in the Prem for several seasons when the like of Ki put tools down. I thoigh Ayew didnt do much for us and is a better player now. That said,Im certain its down to our club and how player are managed. We desperately need guidance.

J Ayew on 23:33 - Jan 2 with 944 views | ReslovenSwan1 | Both Ayew J and Gylfi S are out of contract this summer. The list of players out of contract in the summer is eye watering. All will be after silly money and there is not enough of it to go around. Players like Hal Robson Kanu are unemployed while Neil Taylor has probably cut his pay demands to get en extra couple of years.

J Ayew on 01:11 - Jan 2 by AndyCole | . You clearly weren't watching. Like so many of the unthinking. Look way and above his body language. Named Palace Player of The Year 19/20, by a clear distance. A proper player's player. Something the uninformed passive armchair has absolutely no idea about. I've seen it so so many times. He was totally one of us. Back of the class, Patches. . . |
Surprisingly you’ve misinterpreted my post while trying to sound superior

If Gylfi is after silly money then he needs his head read. He’s in a safe house at the moment isn’t he? I can’t imagine he will be going around giving it the big one to be honest.
