Line up V Brum? 19:11 - Sep 27 with 2641 viewsenfieldargh

If JoJo & DeWijs arent fit we are going to have to dig deep.

McCallum hinted he's OK but 2 games in a week may be too much.

So if these 3 plus CofG & Field all out then

Seny
Dickie Dunne Barbet
Osman Ball Dozzell Moses
Chair Willock
Dykes

???
Shuffle those around with
Albert
Thomas
Amos
Austin
Gray
Duke-McKenna
Archer/Walsh

Hopefully all will slot in smoothly against Birmingham City who we have struggled to beat at home for 2/3 seasons now

captains fantastic

I'd stick with Barbet at left back and go 4-2-3-1. Adomah and Dozell in for De Wijs and Jojo

Stick with the formation and Barbet the better option at lwb than Moses.

Dieng

Moses, Chair, Dozell, Willock, Barbet
Austin, Gray.

Subs
Walsh
Kakay
Adomah
Amos
Thomas
Duke McKenana
Dykes

Is Gubbins ready to step up? I was hoping he might have got a good loan out this season but at least he started for the B team a couple of weeks ago.

Austin must start, showed he is bang in form against Everton

He is in the squad for cover. Needs to make his first start sometime and left sided cb is his position.

I think Ball would be better than Gubbins, untried CB against Hogan, Jukewitz

Ball needs to start in Midfield

Warburton was a bit vague in his pre-Brum interview on the Offish, but it sounded like McCallum and Wallace are both a couple of weeks away, with Field a couple of weeks after that. If Jojo doesn't make it either, I would start with the team that played v Everton, and I guess it'll have to be one of Moses or Kakay at LWB, unless MW can find a place for Duke-McKenna and shuffle the pack. Agree Charlie should start.

Edit - I was forgettng about Amos, but he probably needs one or two more cameos of the bench, I'd have thought.

My view is that Austin and Dykes should share the duties with Tuesday-Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday fixtures.

Double positive for me that we have them (and Gray) all different but with similar goal scoring threat.

After losing 3 on the bounce and conceding a few, might help tighten up defence and Adomah would provide much needed cover for attack minded Moses - plus I'd prefer Chair in middle of 3 with Willock + Adomah either side.

The alternative to this might be a rare 4-1-3-2.

If MW goes with this, I would partner Austin & Dykes upfront with Adomah on the right of the three. It is a choice between Dozell or a second striker, but tonight I would favour Albert supplying two forwards.

Our right hand side would be improved defensively as well with playing someone in front of whoever plays at right back. It could always be changed again for Saturday.

MW will only be interested in tonights game......he will deal with Saturday's game after tonight. A win tonight is quite important after 3 defeats so I expect all fit(ish) players to be selected.

I completely forgot about Ball. Yes, I agree he needs to play. If I take Gubbins out and move Dickie and Dunne across, Ball could play right cb. Left wb is a problem and I think we need to keep Barbet there, so we need another cb, hence it was Gubbins but Ball a more experienced deputy.

Want to also keep four attackers on the pitch.

Gubbins on the bench instead of Thomas.

blimey. where? I mean, I guarantee you 100% he won't - but where are you thinking? Instead of Chair or Willock, or deeper next to Ball/Dozzell?

Bare bones.

Interesting. Can't see it, but I do like what i see of him so far. Think he's more likely to play a bit higher up the pitch.

Bare bones.

Just instead of Dozzell selection wise, playing box to box linking defence and Ball to Chair Willock and striker (?).
We need someone in midfield to match the energy of Chong , for different reasons I think Ball and Dozzell might struggle with that .
