Luton Town v Swansea City Kenilworth David Pleat Stadium Kick off 3pm
Match Officials Whose Tony is that jacket ? Tony Harrington ( whose coat ) will be the referee for Swansea City’s Championship clash against Luton Town on Saturday (3pm). The Cleveland official took charge of the Swans five times last season, he oversaw wins over Nottingham Forest and Rotherham, as well as the away leg against Barnsley in the play-offs, plus defeats against Huddersfield and Birmingham. Jacket will be assisted by Mark Scholes and Craig Taylor, while Darren Drysdale is the fourth official. Mark is related to Paul Scholes, possibly.
New Covid rules mean you can’t slowly drive your car near the ground or talk to a variety of ladies with money in your hand. Just in case, you understand. Wear a mask.
Never trust a hippy.
This is a huge opportunity for Luton boss Nathan Jones to sound absolutely ridiculous again and bemoan about referees, missed opportunity, and his stupid accent.
Nick Owen said he was a Luton fan, then he said this "However, I have a significant number of other commitments, with both my primary employer, the BBC, and other organisations. All of these demand long travel and unpredictable schedules and consequently I feel that I am unable to dedicate the time and effort that I feel the role now deserves."
Seriously though, this could easily be a defining game for Russell Martin, the swans have lost only once in the previous seven meetings. Luton draw a lot of games, expect a 1-1 draw. In the last meeting the swans lived life dangerously but won 1-0 at Kenilworth Road.
Russell Martin eyeing second away win of the season at Luton 17th Sep 2021 11:12 The away defeats at Blackburn and Preston have done nothing but inspire swans manager Russell Martin to take all three points at Kenilworth Road tomorrow. It’s refreshing to hear that every game is targeted for a win, but in reality this game does have a draw written all over it.0
Luton Town confident they can dispose of Swansea City this afternoon 18th Sep 2021 12:29 The Hatters take on the Swans at Kenilworth Road extremely confident their strength, pace and commitment will win them the game. After an exciting finish to their game at Ashton Gate in the week, drawing with Bristol City, a game manager Nathan Jones insists they should have won. The majority of Luton fans seriously believe the swans will get nothing today.0

Another Swansea City player racially abused : This time at Luton 18th Sep 2021 21:57 News reached us early this evening of yet another incident involving a Swansea City player being racially abused by an opposition fan. It’s not once or twice now these fools are being allowed to attend games and literally get away with vile and disgusting ( criminal ) comments towards players of colour. We have have decided to stick to both club statements on this matter, which we will do, and not report recent updates on this incident until Bedfordshire Police release more information,0
Swansea City show real class after an appalling start : Sunday supplement 19th Sep 2021 08:00 After twenty minutes of the game at Kenilworth Road the swans were on their knees, absolutely torn apart. They looked like schoolboys trying to play against men. The worst forty five minutes of football I have seen from Swansea City in many seasons, but then, whatever Russell Martin said at half time it all came good. The most incredible turn around from one half to another in recent memory.0

Surely if he carries on at this rate he is going to be a 20+ goal striker. I have high hopes for him.

It’s amazing how people are looking at Piroe like tyre kickers in a Porsche showroom. Can’t they see absolute quality when they see it? Make the most of it, some big club will get him at the end of the season whether we go up or not. Appreciate what you have!

Well,it's like thoe refering to other fans as utter scum/morons just becasue they dont follow the flow.Have a look at t'other site and you will get my drift .Fans who care more about ripping into fans they hate than the club they claim to support.

No no brynnie, effing hang him.
Ok I overreacted when Paterson contrived to waste opportunities to get the ball into the box late on. But I was seriously stressed out. That last 20 minutes has totally drained me. Sorry Pato but we could have won the darn game with a few decent balls in during that heart stopping period. I’m still knackered now! Apologies

There were still a couple of occasions where an early ball into the box was on but we dithered and ended up having to cede possession to the midfield. That's the sort of largely Grimes inspired shite that RM needs to knock on the head.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Absolutely spot on. The sooner he realises Grimes is a mirage the better. Potter caused this by making him Captain FFS ! If he wasn’t he’d be a squad player at best.

Cooper made Grimes captain.
He played well in the second half.
Sorry I stand corrected. But I don’t share your view on grimes second half performance apart from it was an improvement on his first half performance. That can’t have been difficult to better. I remember him putting us in trouble when a loose pass was intercepted and they end up fluffing the chance to kill us off with a fourth which they hit the post with.
And a couple of difficult to control passes he played which slowed our build up play down and killed off momentum .

Grimes played well under Potter but he could hold on to a set position and appeared all over the team sheet. But Cooper made him captain.

Grimes kills our forward efforts, not saying he's not good at what he does, but he pedestrianizes our forward play and his ability as a captain is questionable at best.
On another note Fulton had a very decent season last year but can't get on the pitch now,

I don’t think so.
I think this game was a cold slap in the face for those that want to go ahead with blind faith. One of the worst halves of football in decades.
Those that had been voicing concerns prior to the match will no doubt have even more. Those that claimed they didn’t will certainly be having some enter their mind.
That felt a little like the Palace escape under Bradley. It’s not sustainable to go into a match with those tactics and that approach. We will get destroyed by better teams, Luton ripped us apart. Luton.
Second half we were far more direct from around 65 mins onward, we seemed to ditch the slow cumbersome passing for passing sake as Luton were siting back protecting their lead. I called it at 3-1 that they were there for the taking if we can go a bit more direct.
That is what we should be doing every game, not this nonsense ego stroking stat boosting in the possession department.
Needs to be binned.

Exactly. The first half performance has hopefully done us a favour going forward. But ultimately we’ve ended up celebrating a 3-3 draw with Luton, teams we need to be beating.

Yes. What both you and Dr P are saying is correct. We have to be more pragmatic. Pick the best team which must include Piroe and Ntcham. A week with three games leading to three points. Could have been nine and really should have been at least six. Martin may yet turn up trumps. Today needs to be a lesson learned.

The hostility towards complete common sense is startling at the moment Prof.
Are people pretending? Or do they genuinely not see it?
I opine they do not. They are more bothered abut being seen as loyal, big ,long term fans. Im bothered we have a disingenuous egotist at the helm who ha the players to make a promotion push.Yeah,really.
Bench/Hamer are ok
Cabango Bennett Williams are a decent back 3
God knows how many can play midfield and Piroe and Monsieur too,not forgetting Whittaker who is being dumped on before our very eyes with not a word said by the super fans . Well I am calling it out as disgusting.
Martin could see us lose good players if he messes them around. If people think Olivier will out up with Russy's mindgames he'd better think again.

Here's what Martin said about the team selection:
"“Olivier Ntcham couldn’t do three games from the start because he’s not done a pre-season, Ben Cabango was completely wiped out from Wednesday and his covid bout, Flynn Downes the same — that’s why he came off — and Joel Piroe is getting up to speed in the Championship, so that’s why we’ve had to make these changes.
“That’s why I am consistent in what I say in the media. I believe in the players so much that when we keep these guys on the pitch then we will be more than competitive, and I’m so grateful.
“It shows the guys have character, togetherness and believe in what we’re doing.”"

Piroe at 20 years was a big time charlie and serial under achiever. He went to Sparta Rotterdam was given his chance and under achieved. The lad needed to change to save his career. 20 games 2 goals in the Dutch league where many a EPL player feasted then failed.
Then his good luck arrives Cooper choses to move on and Mr Martin appears. The cool relaxed Dutchman is involved in some sort of event. (currently unknown what happened. Possibly a strop) . Boot up the jacksee? little chat with Dad on the beach?. Now 5 goals in a hand full of games. As many as he has scored in senior football for two seasons.Whatever it was it worked.
It 'here an now'. 'Potential' is yesterday's language. Whittaker is going through the same growing up process, a pup at 20. He needs to think about his game and how it fits in with Martin's. methods. The maverick Lowe did that and asked for a move at 27. Will he score 14 goals a season again. I doubt it. He is either on a steep upward trajectory or simple having a Borja Baston season. Who knows what would have happened inf Borja the new £15m signing had had some British tough love?

Did Russ say why Whittaker is now nowhere near the scene
Not yesterday, but said sometime last week that he's spoken to Whittaker and that he needs to go out on loan. That's still the plan. If Lincoln are still interested, it looks like he'll be going there in January.

Why?
What is wrong with scoring goals?
He has.
Cullen hasn't.
Grimes hasn't either even though he has a "great left foot". Russy said that too
