Italy look awesome. John Hartson is appalling.

Never knowingly understood

Hartson arguing Ampadu should have got a yellow card as the player wasn’t carried off was quite something.

I heard it as well.....shocking tackle and Hartson didnt see it as a red!!!!!

But hey, apparently we must not question the professionals!!!

I actually thought it was only a yellow, and so did my WhatsApp group.

It was a b@stard tackle, he had to go but Hartson made challenges like that all the time.

Glad Walesland are through though.

I agree. Didn't look deliberate, either. Very unlucky for the young lad.

May well have been a red but Emerson's dive in the first half was one of the most laughable attempts to cheat his way to a penalty that I've ever seen and yet the ref did nothing.
Are refs now under instructions not to book people for this any more because if so it's a backward step?

hartson was very biased today.
questioned everything the ref gave against wales.
but if the boot was on the other foot, especially the sending off....well..

Not even up for debate. Its a red card .
If one our lads was on the end of it .we would be screaming for a sending off.

Absolutely a red card all day long. I've just laughingly watched Earnshaw, Ledley and Robson-Kanu in the studio ridiculously try and defend it saying it wasn't a red, one of their defences being it wasn't high!

Those sorts of challenges can snap someone's ankle and be potentially career ending.

Yes, different opinions go on this forum Gazz.

I honestly thought it wasn't, but naturally I may be wrong.

Having ‘commentators’ or summary people who are from the same country who constantly defend their team or so bias is stupid, buy a ticket if you’re that passionate, Robbie Savage especially.

There have been several similar fouls in this tournament that have all been yellows so surprised when the ref gave a red.

Hartson is biased in his Wales commentary but no worse than Jenas / Murphy in England games

I think we have to remember that Hartson has survived brain cancer and anyone who can do that is okay in my books.

Never knowingly right.

Returning to the original post, I have to agree that Italy are the one team that are world class all round. Their tackling is absolutely spot on every time and they are just on the money with every aspect of their game. They might have been in the wilderness for the last few tournaments but they're back with a vengeance this time. Best team in the tournament by some margin.

If accidentally stepping on an opponent's foot - whilst attempting to get the ball - is now an automatic red card, then there should be ten red cards in every professional game.
