Different players, different mindset, release from the end of Hill's tenure, waking up to the situation we were in and so on, as 442 explained the other day. Hill was capable too, but ultimately lost his job.

Nope. 1 0 down and Osho is stood on the half way line with the ball and we just stand and look around at each other... and then go backwards. We were crying out for Baah to come on after 55 mins but as usual BBM left it too late and that was that.

Sorry you've got me there. Is it off field antics causing doubt and uncertainty on the pitch? Is it that the squad isn't suited for a relegation battle. Have the board made it clear to Brian relegation won't be a disaster and his job is safe so he doesn't have any motivation brought about by fear of losing his job?

I'd add to that, the games against Man U (a) & Newcastle (h) plus the Hendo goal at Southend may have led him to believe he was better than he is, and the reality is very difficult for him to grasp, especially given his father's success and the sometimes overwhelming need to try to prove you're your own man None of which makes the slightest bit of difference to our predicament now

It’s simply not dealing with the situation well for a prolonged period of time. Doesn’t need to be looked at in greater detail as there’s enough evidence on here which is encapsulated by his choices tonight. Addressing your points: off the field has no bearing on tactical decisions and utilising the squad which has enough in it to be around ten points better off, therefore is indeed capable of avoiding relegation. The third point about it not being a disaster: the board have already identified the financial difference between L1 and L2, but let’s not bring it into it for now as the failings are continuous with no signs of improvement irrespective of what division we are in.

James, I don’t know what you are expecting people to say. There’s been an array of views expressed as to why he isn’t up to the job. With respect, you seem constantly determined to argue black is white. Or else come up with some alternative bizarre hypothesis about it being yellow.

Just take a look at that board room for gods sake!!! Not one of them has the first idea about football!!!!! Blind leading the blind on and off the pitch at the moment!!!!! I’ve followed The Dale for 30 years and this is about as bad as I’ve seen it.......... and that’s saying something!!!!!!!

Match Thread: Hull City v Rochdale on 21:17 - Mar 2 with 2068 views | DySporting | Re. Red Card. I had a different angle to everyone else pitchside. At least one foot well off the ground, studs up. Rules are thats a red. The linesman who was right near me, called red, red, into his mike, ref obviously agreed. Years ago wouldn't have been a red but now you can't get away with a challenge with at least one set of studs raised like he did.

Still think that he could make a good manager. Those examples are why, but it’s when allied with an ability to compromise, adapt and be open to different ways of playing. Look at Hill, he was once the expert at that - the way we used COG in L1 as opposed to L2 for example. That was brilliant management both tactically and man-management as he got the player to quickly adapt his role with no adverse effects on his performance. Once more, wouldn’t even necessarily blame individual managers, Hill himself had become a victim of the way the game has gone with managers sticking to bloody philosophies above actually finding the best way to play the game with what they have. The irony now is seen at Tranmere as Hill appears to have realised that having Peter Clarke at one end and James Vaughan at the other, you look to defend properly and get the ball into the box for a forward to score.
