What is a smog / smoggie / smoggy ?
This is a Boro term given to them whenever that happened. Probably when they had steelworks and jobs. It probably happened in the past, and was considered an offensive term until Steve Gibson took over the club and wouldn’t sign a manager unless his name was Brian. Most people who live in Middlesbrough are called Brian. Like Clough but not as talented. Boro folk have their own vocabulary which is called a name.

You too can speak smog
Saying “like” after everything
Every word ending in 'ter' being replaced with an 'a' — butter, matter, batter etc
"Ee-ya mate" Means Ee-ya mate, can ya go in the shop for us?
Tickle my bum ya get. Means I’m a bit fruity but I’m still hard.
"Yerjokinarnyer?" - The response when answering the point above.
"Nithered" - I’m a tad cold.
"Giz a croggy" Can ya Giz a croggy over the border mate? Me bike's been nicked.
Can you please let me ride on the handlebars of your bike while you pedal to the other side of town friend? My bike has been stolen.

A lot of things get stolen in the Boro of smog, like Townhill or Prestonpans.

Boro fans like to be a bit tasty, not like a food taster but like a pretty difficult to fight sort of man ( and woman) due to the fact they are hard as a hard thing. Biffa Bacons ma wasn’t from Middlesbrough, so she would have probably beaten them all up.

Top 5 Boro facts
1. Sex was banned in Middlesbrough in 1964.
2. Most people go to Newcastle for sex due to the fact it’s in Sunderland. Anyone who has been to the big market will vouch for this. Or cattle market as smoggies refer to it.
3. Boro has five sex shops that sell everything from aubergines to flaky cheese.
4. A flaky bellend is what most men have in Middlesbrough. Nobody knows why but rumour and speculation will tell you it’s because of the cheese.
5. The oldest person to have sex in Middlesbrough was Dorothy Twerp who saddled fifteen men in Redcar last Sunday. She is 99.

Dorothy Twerp when she was 82 ready for a romantic night out in Redcar

And there’s a game too ...

Match facts

1. Middlesbrough have lost six of their last nine matches against Swansea in all competitions (W1 D2).

2. Swansea have won their last three league matches against Middlesbrough, their best winning run against them.

3. Neil Warnock has won six of his nine home Football League matches against Swansea City (D2 L1), winning with Scarborough, Notts County, Huddersfield, Crystal Palace and QPR.

4. Swansea’s Andre Ayew has been directly involved in four goals in two league appearances against Middlesbrough (3 goals, 1 assist).

5. Middlesbrough have won four of their seven home games in the Championship this season (D2 L1), only two fewer than the Teesiders managed under Jonathan Woodgate through the majority of last season (6 wins in 20 games).

Teams to follow.

Now we’ve seen Gyokeres.

If Lowe had performed like he has there would be blood on moon.

Indeed watching a stream with Boro commentary

Amazing how they rate players who get slated on here they were glad that both Lowe & Palmer went off.

Some posters just have an agenda & won’t change their minds.

It highlights just how poor he is.

We've all watched enough one on ones to know that goalkeepers are told to rush out, minimise the angles available to the striker and spread yourself when he shoots.

Woodman quite literally backpedaled into his own goal and didn't even bother to put an arm out. It was as if he was scared of being hit by the ball.

You're too nice to say it;he is a coward a a goalkeeper

A bit of luck but it came from a shot from outside the box.

I have to be honest I don’t see the logic in bringing Lowe off then switching to wingers. He’s a natural winger, give him a run on the wing.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Lowe ,as a winger,is better than Routledge

A 35 year old Wayne Routledge volleying the ball out of play on the half way line with absolutely no one around him whilst one of the most exciting wingers in The Championship last seaaon sits on the bench after spending much of the game playing ineffectively up front sums up Steve Cooper as a manager.

Their team is truly appalling and Warnock will take them to the play offs. Imagine how good we could with this team if we had a competent manager.

Better towards the end, but too little too late.

Makes me sick too and not because of his ugly mug.#
Why Routledge?Just why

He wasnt brought on "to close the game out with his experience".

Utterly sick

Dhanda gaining in confidence, weve gone from a team of flair, to methodical, relying on one player !!!

We give them that. Dhanda should of come on instead of Routledge at half time. The team Cooper picked was all wrong from the get go.

One hell of a lot of travelling this week and we had no luck up until Dhandas goal. Pretty even game but we had clear chances (Gyorkeres, Lowe, Roberts), possibly should have had, thought a boro player might have had a red. We didn't play very well, but we're not going to win every game.

Hopefully just one of those nights and we can put in a better performance home on the weekend

This with bells on - small positive that Cooper made the changes having recognised the problems but he needs to get both Lowe & Woodman out of his blind spot & onto the bench.

I still maintain we are no better than a top 10 side, don’t see what fans to hear do that makes them think we’d be top 2 with a different manager.

Patricia Routledge as a winger is better than Wayne Routledge.

Dhanda is one of the few ball-playing genuine footballers that we have - Ayew is the other one. Most of our forwards and midfielders couldn’t trap a bag of cement. Very poor tonight.

Personally I’d have Dhanda playing off Ayew with Grimes, Fulton & Smith in CM plus the usual back 5 & Benda in goal away from home - with Palmer replacing one of the 3 CMs at home.

Routs role needs to be on the coaching side so greater use of Garrick, Gyokeres & Cullen from the bench based on form/circumstances etc.

I'd agree with that but even so, I thought Ayew was poor tonight. Gyokeres...I'd best hold my tongue.
What really peeves is the number of times we slowed the attack down giving Boro time to get back. We didn't get into their box until they had 9 players there. They just crowded us out.
Our passing was terrible mind, sometimes we couldn't even manage a 5 yard pass.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

One of those nights. Disappointing. Not too much point in over thinking it.

Deserved a point and at times played some nice football especially in second half. I’d certainly rest Lowe and bring back Bidwell as he was missed tonight and when Ayew isn’t on song as he wasn’t tonight we afrng the same team.

Dhanda and Grimes made an impression and I thought Palmer showed promise but Woodman should have made it more difficult for their 2nd goal.

Otherwise don’t panic Captain Mainwaring😆

Only an idiot would eat a turkey curry on Christmas day
