I remember watching them perform Gimme Some Lovin on Crackerjack in 1966.
Magical. Spencer, Steve Winwood and his brother Muff. What’s that about ?

Spencer was once asked if he enjoyed playing with Muff and Steve.

I’m a Man is one of the finest tunes ever. The first minute or so is sublime.

Was that instead of the Rolling Stones? :-)

Nobody played instead of the Stones that night. The advertised support band played but not the Stones. I'm pretty sure the Spencer Davis Band played there quite a while later but I can't be positive because I didn't actually see them myself.
