There's a poster on here who is right up on his Ottomans and Byzantines, maybe Brynmill? Would like to hear their opinion on the show for historical accuracy. Enjoyed it myself.

I love a bit of historical fiction, Scarrow, Haviaras, Doherty, Sansom and Hastie. I'll give it a go but I generally prefer the books to the tv versions.

The problem with historical fiction is that more often than not it’s not needed as the real stories are far more juicy, dramatic and exciting.

The problem with historical fiction is that more often than not it’s not needed as the real stories are far more juicy, dramatic and exciting.

That's why I have grown to love History too but still I like the histfic because they weave the fiction into the real events and the characters, if well written grow on you. It was through reading histfic that I started looking into the real events and learning about real history.

	Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

The TV shows tend to play far too fast and loose with hitorical accuracy, take Britannia with that David Morissey, what a load of cobblers.
