The UK economy will outpace the struggling eurozone in the first two years after Brexit, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has predicted for the first time.
Britain also outpaced the monetary union in 2019, giving it three straight years of faster growth, according to the IMF's latest forecasts.
The fund slashed growth across the eurozone, warning that a weaker German recovery and a slowdown in Spain will weigh on the region’s economy this year.
It also cut global economic forecasts again for 2020, but pointed to tentative signs that a worldwide slowdown is coming to an end.

City AM
By October last year 1,441 EU-based firms had applied to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) for temporary permissions to operate in the UK after Brexit, according to figures obtained via a Freedom of Information request from regulatory consultancy Bovill.
Over 1,000 of these firms do not currently have an office in the UK, suggesting they intend to establish their first office after the UK’s departure from the EU on 31 January.
“These figures clearly show that many firms see the UK as Europe’s premier financial services hub,” said Michael Johnson, a consultant at Bovill.
Facebook also announced 1000 well paid IT jobs would be created in the UK.
These stupid, thick, racist coastal towns and villages that rely almost entirely on the fishing industry are so stupid, thick and racist. It's such a tiny part of national GDP so why should we give two f*cks about them?
The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Great to see the International Monetary Fund now predict UK growth post BREXIT will outstrip the rest of the EU including Germany now they know we are leaving, along with Bovill reporting incoming financial groups will greatly out number exiting groups.
Strange how the usual remoaner suspects have suddenly shut up and chosen to ignore this data from the experts.
So it was all project fear all along.

Didn't brexiters tell us we were supposed to ignore experts?

No, the argument was that the experts who were also blatant remainers (everyone who’s ever written in The Guardian for example) were quite clearly not giving one sided reviews. The argument from brexiteers has always been that they believe we can be successful out of the the EU. No guarantees whatsoever but we had a choice. Nothing but abuse from remainers for using our vote and having an opinion different to theirs. Let’s see what happens but the Armageddon phase 2 hasn’t happened yet.

So Gove didn't say we should ignore experts?

He said we have had enough of experts, mostly because people were fed up of being spoken down to by people who often turned out to be wrong.
I can see what Mummery was saying but surely she could see it was an inevitable outcome? It's the way the leaving process is laid out. We agreed the transition period which leaves us subject to EU rules but without representation, it's not brilliant it's just the way it is.

You can't get more pro European than the "new European" It is a bit like trade unions being pro Corbyn and well all know what became of him.
The rich people, the very rich anyway have been offshore for ages. Many big tory donors want the UK run a certain way while they maximise income by using tax havens (and dodgy schemes of course) so this is hardly new or even something we can totally blame on brexit. John Gore for example, he gave the Tories a cool million and lives in the Bahamas.

It would be poetic justice if the Gammons abroad who voted to leave then get the same treatment that our foreign nationals are getting the UK. Imagine the irony of them having to leave Spain, Gibraltar etc...

Why would they have to leave Gibraltar? Do you know something no one else does?
The settled persons system has turned out to be rubbish admittedly but what treatment are you referrring to?

Not just the rich Tories who live abroad. Branson, kinnocks in Sweden although Neil pays his tax in Switzerland. Don't forget Scottish nationalist Connery who prefers not to live in Scotland.
Rich people can always pick where they want to live to avoid tax
