What's going on? Is he carrying a hidden injury? Surely he needs to be getting game time, even as a sub if necessary.

Matter of time. He needs a season under his belt. Cant expect him to play throughout. Ayew is a leader and Surridge is decent. Wouldnt be surprised to see Kalulu sp. have a run up front. I believe Celina, Byers and Grimes who played yesterday are all attacking players will benefit from having a more versatile player in front. Like McBurnie or Ayew. Surridge and Borja are similar bu5 maybe Surridge has been finishing better in training. Borja benefits from speed on the wing and tap ins. Garrick and Aldo have that pace in our squad to get to the byeline. Borja will poasibly play next game though Ayew may have designs on that role and Borja will leave.

Would I be wise of the mark in suggesting that Borja could leave in Jan therefore freeing up some funds to bring in a midfielder?

Definitely a possibility, seeing as he walks for free at the end of the season due to his contract ending.

Don't be silly.

Good finisher and a bit of a predator in 18 yard box but doesn’t have all round game to lead the line, Surridge has overtaking him in pecking order so I fully expect to see him leaving in January to free up funds.

He's not very good. And a reminder that those running our Club completely lost the plot. Ditto Sam Clucas.

It would be insanity to put him on the grass ahead of Ayew or Surridge.

Surridge now screaming for a start based on last 2 cameos.

Borja a distant 3rd at present.
I am glad the gaffer is seeing it as it is

Imo borja is better than surridge, yes surridge scored a cracking header yesterday but it doesnt mask that hes weak as p!ss, in his run of games borja has played well, hes far stronger than surridge and hes our top scorer, i suspect he isnt getting games because cooper wants ayew in the middle and apart from brentford at home playing him there is obviously working, at least we have the players available so cooper can tinker a bit with the formation and its good that he doesnt tinker too much as being joint top is testament that its working.

This. Potentially the best finisher but offers far less outside the box so tends to disappear in games when we are on the back foot.

I’d have thought he’d be available in Jan unless B’mouth can recall Surridge.

Weak as piss??
Never for me mate... respect your opinion but never for me.

Won two massive defensive headers for us when we were on the rack yesterday.
Had a great impact also last week.
Streets ahead of Borja for me.

Borja isn't a very good footballer.

You think young Surridge is piss poor?

Ok all opinions & that but wow.
Give him service and he will score more than Borja IMO.

With no service he will put a more 'effective' shift in.

No doubting Borjas effort, but key word is effective.

Hang on, I thought that after the first month of the season, Borja was a key player, will tear up the league, get us 20+ goals, indispensable when it comes to the Jan transfer window, etc, etc.

I do love our fans.

The same fans who decided en masse that Tammy Abraham was rubbish.

Seems pretty obvious to me that Baston's dropped out of the side for tactical reasons. Ayew's style suits the pattern of play Cooper chose for the Cardiff game and we're sticking to it for the moment.

Baston will have a role to play through the season (if he stays) as will Surridge. It’s not daddy or chips. Surridge is ahead of Baston on merit at the moment. Aside from scoring the winner his defensive contribution yesterday was huge. You wouldn’t get that from Baston. Not that I’m suggesting you’d pick your striker based on his ability at defending corners. Cos that would be silly.

Innit. Borja needs to play with wingers.

It’s not rocket science.
