Bit of fun.

*Sleepy Lagoon composed by Eric Coates fades out*

What 10 albums or singles would you hope to be stuck with until you got rescued?

In no order of preference:

Grand Prix - Teenage Fanclub
Ege Bamyasi - Can
#1 Record - Big Star
Figure 8 - Elliott Smith
Peng! Stereolab
After the goldrush - Neil Young
Sumday - Grandaddy
Illinois - Sufjan Stevens
Physical Graffiti - Led Zeppelin
Finger Style Guitar - Chet Atkins

I could go on but this is what I salvaged from the shipwreck.

Your go....

If those were the top ten albums on the boat I reckon it was probably sunk deliberately...

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

I chose 1 song like you would on the show...

1) Nina Simone - 'I Got It Bad (And That Ain't Good)'

2) Bob Dylan - 'It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)'

3) Stone Roses - 'Ten Storey Love Song'

4) Amy Winehouse - 'Me and Mr. Jones'

5) Jimi Hendrix - 'The Wind Cries Mary'

6) The Smiths - 'That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore'

7) Cat Stevens - 'How Can I Tell You'

8) Marvin Gaye - 'What's Going On?'

9) The Rolling Stones - 'Can't You Hear Me Knocking?'

OR

9) Chic - 'Le Freak'

(Coin toss)

10) Ryuichi Sakamoto- 'Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence'

The book I'd take would be 'Under Milk Wood' by Dylan Thomas although I'd try and persuade the presenter that I should be able to take the radio version 'performed by Richard Burton & an All Welsh Cast'...

Slump is a great album. I ended up doing work for them on the following Sumday tour. Dario who posts on here sometimes did a tour poster for Jason when he came over here late spring. He stayed in North Wales and travelled down to mine to play a gig in Cardiff with the brilliant Malojian supporting.

Jason Lytle stayed with you ?

What did you do on the Sumday tour for them Ebo?

And thanks for the Malojian tip. I've just quickly played some of their stuff for a few minutes on Spotify and they are very interesting, thanks.

Somebody on here put me on to Drugstore (maybe you?) and I've ended up getting all their albums since then.
Also, some years ago, a random music post on CCMB of all places introduced me to Marissa Nadler and she is great , in a chilled miserablist kind of way.

Propaganda - A Secret Wish, one of the best albums of the 80's, and after waiting nearly 35 years saw them live last year in Bournemouth O2 supporting Heaven 17 (who were also excellent)
