Chelsea club statement:
'With the sheer number of games played by Champions League clubs, it is inevitable that we will need to rotate players or cover injuries. This is why we desperately need our new U19 left back who has been given the squad number 856 and will be appearing for FC Fartzkins in the Lower Slobovian second tier next week. You know, to gain experience or something.'

'What do we want? We don't know! When do we want it? Now!'

What they do is ridiculous. Seems like they could solve this pretty easily by saying any profit made on the player goes to the original club unless player has played 1000 league minutes in first team

That and limited the number of signed players they have at each age group and over 21.

Then prevent them from poaching from other clubs without paying 100% sell on clauses or £30 million if they spend their entire career with them.

There that should change things a bit.

Last night one of their kids scored on his full debut. Interviewed on TV he said something like ' I was brought here by Chelsea from my country aged 15 and this was a dream come true'.

Everything that's wrong about modern football in a sentence.

I wish every club in the football league made a pact not to sign any players on loan from Scum which would leave them with a playing staff of 100, presumably breaching all sorts of regulations and make everyone sit up and actually realise what a disgrace they are signing players who will never ever play for them. For example, Millwalls keeper last week is a Scum player who will never play for them. It's an absolute scandal the way average players are hoarded by Premiership clubs.

Poll: Who would you most like to see win the Premiership?

The solution is really quite simple, and has been proposed many times before now; simply ban clubs from signing players under the age of 16. Leave the kids to play for their Sunday league and school teams, scout them of course, and then sign them up when they've reached a reasonable age.

The academy structure, which was hailed as necessary to develop more and better players for England, is a failed concept anyway. We're simply producing mollycoddled kids with little work ethic and who have no idea how to play competitive football. And all the evidence is that the clubs, agents and - it must be said - parents - simply use it for child exploitation.

It's a sad fact that several clubs in the lower league go to Chelsea for loanees. More often than not he ends up being their best player.
I read yesterday a Man City 17yo youth team player has joined Borrusia Dortmund accepting he will never play for the City first team. Let's hope many more have the same idea.

Wish I could be like David Watts
