Im bored so indulge me

The tramp who used to stand at the bottom of the loft in a big long coat that stank
Garry waddock doing his knee against Sheff Wed
the smell of Bovril and cigarette smoke during a night game
David Pizantis curler against West Ham
the ruck with Pompey in 96
pat van den hawe having a meltdown with the Loft over mandy smith
the Pannini family stand giving away sticker books and stickers
the Merger sit down protest against Man City
the floodlights failing against Forest in the freezing cold , then a huge off in the ER
Maccas last minute equaliser against Utd in the cup

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

I remember the 'Mum, I play for Crewe' - cracked up.

A phantom half time whistle a couple of years back, it even convinced the PA guys.

A Chelsea fan standing in the Loft for the 6-0 and being told by the coppers next to him he had to stay for the game. As the Loft exited, the sadistic coppers made him stand there to be chanted at.

It's always noisiest at the shallow end

Dave Thomas scoring direct from a corner in 1970s
Phil Parkes scoring against Leicester in the same game but disallowed for offside!
Punch-up in game vs Manchester city 1976 - incredibly tense game won with a Dave Webb header and the ground went beserk
A man called Jim Grotty offering to leave to go to toilet v Leeds 1976 cos we always scored when he went out. He didn't get down the stairs before Stan got the 2nd
Having to look under our seats cos someone behind us lost their false teeth celebrating a goal!

Cisse's goal against Stoke, quickly followed by the guy in front of me showing me on his mobile that Bolton had thrown away their 2-0 lead against West Brom.
Charlie's winner in the playoff semi final.
Fillery's late winner in a relegation battle against Leicester after Ian Dawes had ripped open their defence.
Terry Fenwick flattening Norman Whiteside at the end of a defeat against Manchester United after Whiteside had kicked every QPR player off the pitch.
The reception Jamie Mackie got when he returned to Loftus Road playing for Nottingham Forest.
Frank Worthington's stunning pre-match warm up skills show whenever Leicester were in town.

Going to games in the 70's with a qpr silk scarf tied around the wrist.

The old club shop where everything seemed to be behind the counter.

that scum cnt who was too scared to take a corner in "that" game.

The abuse for the racist just about every time he turns up at HQ.

celebrating on the pitch soaking wet after the wigan semi and not caring a jot.

Adel's too good for you.

The old goals with the box type stanchions.

Standing on the loft and never quite getting back to the same position after a goal.

we want our squirrel back.

Hearing the news about no points being deducted at the leeds game and not being able to remove the smile off my face for about a week. Flags on the seat for every fan. looking around the ground that day at the sea of waving flags. Brings a lump to my throat just typing this!

absolutely love the place and dont want to leave. It's home.

Thank you, paulparker and contributors. This has been an extremely interesting thread. I share many of the memories recalled by others so will try to add only those that are specific to me.
My first experience of the old ruin that was Loftus Road back in 1959 and then into the early 60's was when I genuinely expected my first hero, Brian Bedford, to score in every game - and he almost always seemed to do so.
My first experience of the sights and smells of a night game was on 7th Feb 1967 when we slaughtered the First Division opposition from Birmingham in the League Cup Semi Final.
My first real disappointment was knowing that I would miss the final because it clashed with my playing in the semi final of the Middlesex Youth Cup.
My next disappointment was when playing against Rangers in the South East Counties League in 1967 and 1968 and hoping that I would play so well someone would ask me to sign for the R's - never happened.
Running on to the pich at Villa Park on 11th May 1968 after Bradley's own goal resulted in top flight football for the first time.
Angrily reading Sam Leitch in the News of the World pre-season when he wrote, 'with or without Rodney Marsh, QPR will get 36 points at best'. Bastard was right, we only got 18!
Friendly against Glasgow Rangers in 1969 when Rodney went beserk and had to be taken off by, I think, Frank Sibley. That was the last time I stood in the School End (pre-segregation) as their 'fans' brought bottles of beer into the ground in duffle bags, stood at the top of the stand, drunk the contents then chucked the empty bottles at our supporters below them.
Running on the pitch after the Leeds game on 24th April 76, being convinced that we had won the league, only to be absolutely shocked 10 days later.
Watching the 82 Cup final thinking how lucky we were to draw. Watching the replay, thinking how unlucky we were to lose!
Taking my son to his first games in the mid eighties and seeing his face when talking to his hero, Gary Bannister, to find out they shared the same birthday.
Sitting with my boy in the Ellerslie Road stand in the early nineties, when a kid in the next row used to shout, 'big one Janny', every time our keeper kicked the ball.
Greatest disappointment when same son said he didn't want to come any more, then suddenly started to wear an Arsenal shirt that his bloody mother bought him!
Haven't had the same degree of individual memories over the last 20 years but when I close my eyes I can still see the crossbar vibrating after Danny Shittu's mammoth strike against (Ajax?) in a pre-season friendly around ten years ago.

The School End Programme / Souvenir Shack was destroyed by West Ham 39 years ago. One day, back in the early 2000's, I had a job going down in Plymouth, Mass and a gent, originally from Ilford who was working on the site, identified himself as the party mainly responsible for this incident.

Random memory but have never forgot maybe the best goal against us I've seen

1978 Frank Worthington for Bolton from about the halfway line

Remember that well. The weather had been atrocious for ages the game was in doubt but played on a quagmire of a pitch but Worthington was fabulous he scored a hat trick . We lost 3-1

I've remembered a few more.
Being confused as to the identity of our new long haired signing back in 73 or 74 during the pre match kick around, then cracking up when the follicly challenged 'Henry' Mancini took off his wig and threw it in to the crowd.
'Fulham Park Rangers'.
Watching the original Lua-Lua tearing our defenders a new arse in another Cup fiasco in the 90's (right up there with the best performances ever seen at HQ).
Macca going in goal for Swindon and never looking remotely like he would be beaten by our powder puff strikers.
It's astonishing how these memories return in such a random manner.

The loft singing "lets all do the Seaman" while waving arms around aimlessly after one of his comedy save attempts in a big game.

The random guy (upper loft?) who always yelled out "come on my team!" and "shoot, shoot, shoot!" during quiet periods.

Chanting "Timmy!" in high pitched voices whenever Tim Flowers had the ball. He hated it.

Garry Thompson and another player high fiving behind the ref after he spoke to both and still couldn't couldn't work out which one had clattered a Southampton player and potentially earned a red card.

The roasted peanuts guy.

Singing the Laurel and Hardy tune as the police took up positions towards the end of games.

everyone booing the statement on the large TV by briatore on Sousas sacking against Sheff Wed

Sir Les scoring a brace against Luton and sending them down

Macca growling at Nigel Quashie for getting the Swindon keeper sent off then going in goal himself & keeping a clean sheet

the good looking blonde bird who worked in the burger van outside SA in the mid 90s

Tony Roberts debut on a cold Friday night against Coventry

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore
