Robert Snodgrass 12:53 - Jan 12 with 9460 views | AussieSwan | Seems to constantly be linked with a move to other relegation rivals, like Palace, Sunderland and Middlesborough 7 goals and 2 assists this season and great from set pieces. I think he would be a fantastic signing for us. Him and Narsingh and all of a sudden our wingers look a hell of a lot better Personally for around 6-7m I would go for it.

Robert Snodgrass on 16:07 - Jan 12 by AussieSwan | exactly, we need two good wingers not one. Narsingh is a good start but that's only one side of it. None of our other wingers have had any real end product this season at all. Montero has had many chances to claim a starting XI spot but always seems to be better off the bench. He's a great impact sub to have but when he starts he seems to let us down more often than not. Routledge works hard but is past it now; Dyer and Barrow have pace but not much else unfortunately. Snodgrass in my view is somebody attainable at a decent price, and would definitely upgrade our starting XI [Post edited 12 Jan 2017 16:10]

Montero has signed a long term deal so has Dyer, what do you suggest doing with them, Routledge, Barrow and Narsingh incoming, how many wingers do you want? I'm glad your not in charge of our wage bill

Robert Snodgrass on 16:11 - Jan 12 by AngelRangelQS | If we don't sign a new centre half we will go down. Surely everyone can see that we are absolutely crying out for a decent one? |
A decent one being the key point. Another mid-range option will just give us more of the same and be a waste. I'd love to see a top class player come in, but suspect that's beyond our means in this ridiculously pricey market. I can't see us getting one top quality CB let alone two, but we'll see. We should also do a lot better at the back once (if?) PC gets us working as a unit again.

Don't disagree but i think it's unrealistic. I think that an experienced CB along with an upgrade on at least one full back and a better midfield would sort the other CB out sufficiently.

Palace are interested in Barrow and West Brom are showing interest in Montero.

Got to be honest I wouldn't mind if Nath and one of Montero/Barrow left to be honest Rayns, Montero one dimensional Barrow similar and a bit of an arse, Routs can still do somin, but if pushed he could go as well.

Robert Snodgrass on 16:45 - Jan 12 with 2783 views | yescomeon | I'd drive Montero to West Brom myself if they want him. I wouldn't say no to an older head to come in at centre half, that's what is really missing, I'd be happy with any of Amat, Mawson or van der Hoorn playing alongside a player like what Willams used to be for us. It's just my opinion that there are far bigger priorities than centre half.

Montero to West Brom? They must have been dazzled by his performance up there last month. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Quite agree Max, it's going to take some doing though to get them out with the contracts they are on

Robert Snodgrass on 15:03 - Jan 12 by LeonWasGod | Depends how we're going to play. We've got Barrow and Montero who can run past players and into blind alleys, often with little end product. Snodgrass strikes me as more of a footballer than an athlete, more of the Pablo type than a flying winger. The sort who we need if we're going to get back to neat triangles and through balls rather than giving it to an isolated winger and waiting to see what he can do with it. It will be interesting to see how PC wants to set us up. Whatever it is, I hope he has a clear philosophy and tries to see it through rather than use a tombola to pick his formation, approach and line-up every week like BB did. |
Very true! dont get me wrong hes a class act and he would be a great addition but im not convinced by any of our wingers in all honesty montero cant be trusted and is very lazy barrow is quick and can beat a man but no end product and routs is routs and dyer seems to have lost a yard or 2. Id like to say the transfer windows looking exciting but im bloody dreading every minute of it. Lets hope we spend wisely and get what we desperately need. 🙈🖒

You say that like our wingers are setting the world on fire. If I was in charge of the wage bill, I wouldn't have given Dyer a four-year contract in the first place, especially the year after loaning him out. Dyer would be the first of our wingers that I would look to offload personally. I'd let him go now if it meant getting somebody of Snodgrass' ilk in. End of the season I'd probably let Barrow or Routledge go as well if there was interest at the right price - I wouldn't sell to a relegation rival right now

Right, so we are stuck with these wingers on top dollar long term contracts, and you are advocating signing even more, I wish it was as easy as yo think to move them on

I guess it's the fault of the powers that be who've got us into the mess through many poor transfer / contract decisions. Won't be easy finding buyers for those players, you are quite right. Simply standing still won't get us out of this hole, so signing Narsingh is a good start. The buck shouldn't stop there in my view. [Post edited 12 Jan 2017 20:45]

Yes it's not easy but it's not just our club that makes poor signings clubs get desperate. If we can move one of them on funds should then be available to bring someone else in all ifs and buts I know.

Llorente would be much more effective with having Snodgrass on the wing delivering some decent balls into the box! 19 premier league games this yr 7 goals and 3 assists is not a bad return for someone like Hull!
