And fair to say, if our owners were hoping that Bradley would ignite some Stateside interest, then I've seen zero evidence of it so far.

Watched NBC Sports and ESPN PL highlights programmes and aside from showing the goals in our game, no mention of Bob. Bit like watching MOTD really, we were on last I think and no special mention of our Bob.

The US still totally obsessed by American football in particular. We and Bob seem the non-entities we no doubt are to 99% of the sport watching population.

Did read a piece in USA Today (I think it was) which blamed Bob's poor showing on the fact we don't like him cos he's American and speaks like an American...glossed over fact he's been sht funnily enough.

Anyway, still waiting for someone to ask me over here what I think of Bob? Will make sure not to mention he's sht cos he's American...

Oh,..Dave, what's occuring?

Bit surprised at the reaction, as you all have gone and done the same exact thing you would have expected, taking me as a representative as whatever shadowy entity you think is currently embroiled in a conspiracy to buy Swansea and make them fail.

1. You will find 1 centered area of discussion. http://forums.bigsoccer.com/threads/bob-bradley-swansea.2026609/ Have at it, try your best!

2. People that have followed the trials and tribulations of American Soccer do have a big chip on the shoulder regarding the Anti-American biases in Europe. How players don't get chances, how if they do get chances, they have incredibly short leashes. Same goes for Bob now I guess - but it's warranted if a player or coach has been awful. Most haven't been, yet still get treated this way. Any articles or outlets now are simply people who don't know how the game works, the time to write about bias isn't now.

3. I cannot justify Bradley's appointment, as I have been told by the people I work for to simply spread propaganda and not reveal my affiliations. Thank you for understanding!

4. Clearly American owners wanted to give one of their guys a shot, and why not. Don't like it? Buy your own club.

Your point 4. See, that's exactly it. No concept of what the club means to the city, no concept of the emotional investment of fans, some who have been supporting the club for 50+ years.

No, it's - if you don't like it, buy another club. Ffs, you couldn't make it up. No wonder I hate our Yank owners.

1. Xenophobia????

2. Trust me, clubs across Europe spend millions on talent ID. If players are good enough European clubs will bite your hands off to bring them here, as they could get players 'cheap' who either turn out to be stars or can be sold on. Minimal risk = huge rewards

3. That's just a stupid, worthless comment.

4. Umm, they are investors and the Premier League is a cash cow. I do genuinely feel sorry for them as it appears our former shareholders sold them a dud. Also, if you read up and research properly you'll find out that our fans do own 21% of the club, but the previous shareholders and the new shareholders colluded to keep them out of the sale. www.swanstrust.co.uk

For what it's worth, I coached soccer (football) in the USA in 2006. If they get structures and systems in place, they could go places. I say this as Football (soccer) is a middle class sport and it appears that people with money are involved.

It's sad that people genuinely think it's xenophobia behind Bob having a hard time. It's a lame excuse from him, the man has not got the ability despite seeming to be a nice fella. As other people have stated, there's a reason why he hasn't worked at a high level, and it's got the square root of f*ck all to do with his language. Watch some of the videos on YouTube, he's teaching professional footballers to pass the ball with their instep. That's a basic drill for beginners.

How many of you know what DP stands for?

1) American fans discussing our impending relegation is of little consequence.

2) Here is the worlds smallest violin playing just for the American "soccer fans." People like Brad Friedel, Tim Howard and Clint Dempsey flourished in the premier league during their careers.

3) We wanted Bradley to do well and he hasn't. He's been quantifiably sh*t in every department. He came here with a billy big boy attitude and a chip on his shoulder and he's failed to deliver anything resembling competence. The fact that he lacks the awareness to call a "PK" a penalty kick in interviews is just opening himself up for self parody.

4) For that remark you can f**k off. We do own our own club. It's greedy b@stards that are ruining it for us, those who reside locally and those from across the pond. The fact you're more interested in letting obscure yank footballers get a break than you are about our concerns as local fans who have been here for years and decades just highlights the kind of c**t we have attracted to the club.

Just been on the above site - signed up and posted.

I never realised how messed up the American psyche is when it comes to football - absolutely massive inferiority complex. Apparently it's all our fault - xenophobia, we laugh at his Americanisms(?), he won;t be given a chance. Anything, in other words, apart from the fact that he's not good enough.

From what I've seen, going over to Midwest a few times, US sports fans are more interested how their local star guy is doing on the motorsports tracks than any foreign soccer matches.

Let me extend a welcome to our new US fans. All 127 of you.

Hey it's 129 now as of this morning.

It's still a new page and word takes time to get around; hoping we have closer to 1,000 by the end of the season. As it is, I encourage everyone here to check it out if you care at all about what's going on with American Jackdom (which I get that many of you don't despite bothering to start/read this thread). https://www.facebook.com/groups/JacksinUSA/?ref=bookmarks

When I was in Richmond this summer, I saw a lot more Swans shirts than I expected at the game. And traveling across the country to see a friendly isn't quite so easy over here. Also, we had JTAK showings in the east and northwest to packed houses. Impossible to say how many of us there are, but if I had to make a guess, the number of Americans who identify as Swansea fans is probably somewhere in the low 5-digits at this point.

We've got a long way to go, but it's clearly grown exponentially in just the few years I've been paying attention.

Id imagine the majority (if not all) will lose interest when we have games against Burton Barnsley & Rotherham

No offence fella but I really couldn't give a fuk about how many fans we have in the US.

Same as Danes wIth Laudrup /Koreans with KI / etc etc

Point 4 makes no sense. Who would buy a multi-million pound business and give the most important job to someone just because they are from the same country?
You should always pick the best person available. They didn't, and now they are suffering for it.

We use both terms. Just like sometimes calling matches games, or penalties PK's, or football soccer.

Most people are sharp enough to keep up.

Oh I know that, Tummer - matches / games you can understand.

Points / Goals though? That would be akin to a baseball result being described as 8 point to 3 rather than 8 runs to 3, surely?

Reading that thread, can see there's a lot of passionate Americans wanting Bradley to succeed - ie love of Bradley more than love of Swansea. It's understandable, but most of their post come across as knowing more about football than Swansea fans who've followed the club for decades because Bob is the greatest ever. Or something like that.

Just seems that passion in wanting him to succeed so that America, by association succeeds, is blinding people to what's going on. It's all excuse - the squad is awful. Maybe, but that awful squad conceded less goals under Guidolin.

It's excuses though, isn't it.

"Well, we relegated but it wasn't my fault, fans are xenophobic / media stirred hatred up / squad was woeful to begin with etc."

You simply get on with coaching. Ignore bs questions about it or turn tables on journalists. If you believe you're good enough to coach at Prem level, work your b*llocks off and show it. If you know you're not good enough, you'll look for the excuses to show it wasn't your fault at all.

"Points" is used in American football and basketball and just about every sport other than baseball. So I guess it just spills over to hockey and football sometimes even though we know it's wrong, just because we are so used to saying it.

The trust should demand where these comments are coming from. They should prove this smoke screen for poor results is made up. Bob should be hauled in front of them and ask to clarify!! Should not be let off the hook! Are they saying fans are discriminating him. I'm a fan and I don't want to be labelled. So where and who said these American comments?? Yeah, guess so. I didn't post that to have a real go against Americans, more that I found it funny.

There's another theory I came up with, maybe you could give your view. Do you think that maybe Americans struggle to grasp the nuances of football matches because most American sports are more stat based in nature? For example, football being reduced to stats totally removes any and all context.

Nah, not the same exact deal.

This is for dedicated loyal Swansea fans with the odd exception like myself. They love Swansea.

That other forum is full of people rooting for Bobby Bob. Bobby Bob could be at any Prem club. Swansea just happens to be the one with American owners who employ him as manager. As soon as he's fired, nobody at that forum will mention Swansea.

Massive difference. That's the problem American posters over there fail to grasp. Namely that it's incredibly patronising that a bunch of people who couldn't give a single s*it about Swansea are butthurt about Bob's ability to do the job being questioned. How dare fans of a club give a s*it about how it's being mismanaged - they should be grateful to have a lower league manager foisted upon them by "investors" who haven't put a single penny into the club, who s*it all over the Trust.
