Mr Bradley, please earn the right to judge others or to puff yourself up . . . 01:24 - Oct 14 with 7495 views | Davillin | Mr Bradley, please earn the right to judge people related to Swansea City Football Club or to your past endeavors, and to puff yourself up You earn it not at press conferences, but on the pitch. I, for one, would prefer to see you demonstrate your management superiority on the pitch, and not read about it every day -- especially before a ball has been kicked under your management. I found your negative remarks about Francesco Guidolin and Jurgen Klinsmann distasteful at best, and most decidedly better left unsaid forever.. How about a maximum of one bigging-up [if deserved] at one post-game press conference per game?

Mr Bradley, please earn the right to judge others or to puff yourself up . . . on 11:34 - Oct 14 by Murph75 | So you think that you can pass the ball and jog in to a position to be able to create space to receive it back or take an opposition player with you to create space for other members of the team to receive the ball? How much energy do you think being mentally agile takes up? If you don't players with the quickness of mind you wont be successful at keeping possession. Have you ever seen a Barcelona player jog in to position? |
I'm not disputing you need football intelligence to be able to do it. Martinez, Rodgers and Laudrups players had it. It was hard for Guidolin to play that way with the players he had (this season). Bob obviously has the same set of players, so I'd expect it to be difficult for him too. If he can get us playing like that, I'll happily admit I was wrong about him. Barcelonas players are constantly jogging or even walking into position. They play a reasonably slow possession based probing game that explodes into life when they sniff a chance. When that happens, you get 3, 4 or 5 of them suddenly sprinting in short bursts dragging defenders all over the place. Even then, that's more tiring for the players chasing them.

Mr Bradley, please earn the right to judge others or to puff yourself up . . . on 11:15 - Oct 14 by Darran | So who's fault was it that our players were unfit then? |
The players! They are so called highly paid proffessionals who know they should keep their body in shape and at the peak of fitness. Team training should be used for tactics and yes some physical fitness but if the players were that "unhappy" why hasny Huws door been knocked as in the past...what stops them putting in an hour a day in the gym or road running?

I think training should be a mixture of fitness training and tactics and in 90% or more of the cases, that's exactly what it is. Some (like Roberto and Brendan) use the ball with the fitness parts more than others do, which the players seem to like (understandably). But, managers like Sousa and Guidolin focus almost totally on tactics and this has a negative effect on their fitness, which is pretty mental when tactics are useless unless the core fitness is there. Finally, I think one or more of the players did go running to Huw to mention it. In such a fast-paced game that football's becoming, it's scandalous that the players aren't as fit as they can possibly be. Against Liverpool it was so noticeable that the legs of most of the players just went. Even previously "super-fit" players like Naughton saw his legs go after 50 mins. It will take a while to get up to the level of fitness needed to play the high-press game most of us would like to see!

As far as I can see, he's being criticised for talking too much about himself rather than commenting honestly on the team's performance even though the vast majority of questions he has been asked have been about him and his appointment while there have actually been no performances for him to comment honestly on.

This. Plus the Fitness Coach. The Manager should train overall Tactics, the other Coaches train Defense, Attack, Goalkeeping & Fitness. Plus they also have Physio specialists as well. I seem to remember that a certain ex Swans player, Darren Pratley used to do extra training on his own and could out run any other team player. I can't see any reason for a Dedicated player to go complaining to Jenkins when all they need to do is consult with the Physios and Fitness coach to do more general stamina training that doesn't impact on their speed (if speed is required)

The legs went because Liverpool passed the life out of us and knackered our players early in the second half. Other than that, I completely agree. Great post. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Don't slate fitness levels under the previous coach, show us, over however long it takes, that you have improved their fitness levels. Say nothing, we will still notice. It's far classier. As for Klinsmann, journalists should stop leading him down this path and he should stop indulging them when they do. |
false statements? Is that why some of the players, worried about their fitness employed their own personal trainers this season?

I totally agree that Liverpool passed the life out of our players BUT we should have lasted a lot longer than we did. I understand their legs going after 65 mins (20 mins after a 15 minute break) but not almost immediately after half time and not so many of them all at the same time. It showed that the overall conditioning was poor. Our injury record has (fortunately) been incredible but we can't focus on that at the expense of the players being able to last the course of a whole game. Anyway, I think the point is about whether Big Bad Bald Bob should have mentioned it and I for one think he should have.....it was such an obvious weakness of ours.

I'll wait to see what we do on the pitch, and that's all that matters. I couldn't give a toss if the guy's got verbal diarrhea or is mute. [Post edited 14 Oct 2016 14:29]
