What worries me most is now three gaping opportunities to score goals from set pieces and he's missed all of them. It's why i'd be tempted to start VDH next game because we really are suffering from putting those away now. Cannot agree more with the comment above me. Just one of those days.

The Official Swansea City v Hull City Premier League Match Day Thread! on 16:59 - Aug 20 by macthejack | Some absolutely textbook over-reactions here. Bad day at the office but as others have said, it's always going to be hard when a team sits back and aims to play on the break. Didn't help that Gylfi was woeful (my abiding memory of that game will be him desperately trying to control a football on the edge of the box) and they doubled up on our wingers which didn't help. Too slow to move the ball. Fernandez awful, I'm probably one of his biggest critics we really need to improve on him. Thought Kingsley looked good. |
Kingsley and Naughton played very well. No composure at the back and lack of creativity in the final third. We have two strikers capable of scoring goals but you have to have the supply for them. I like Routledge but he lacks pace for a winger and does not get enough goals. For workrate away from home he is perfect but when we have to chase a game at home, we need more than him.

We have zero creativity in the team when Gylfi plays that badly, and he was terrible today. Montero and Barrow didn't put in a decent ball between them either. Rather that performance today while the window is open than win the first couple, lose to the big teams coming next with good performances, and not strengthen properly. Desperate for an alternative to Gylfi, and also a wide player with product. Could be the same player. Really think it's worth shelling out for Chadli or similar, and hopefully today will also answer the question about buying a first choice centre half or a back up. Fernandez was all over the place and I wish he'd stop getting in the way from our corners as well. Really really bad game.

We had enough supposed goal scorers and creators in the team, but no real result at all. Well done Hull. [Post edited 20 Aug 2016 17:17]

Maybe we should now make bids for Curtis Davies (who must have been man of the match today) and Snodgraa. That would kill off all their momentum.

Guidolin said in his press conference that Glyfi was our only number 10, so that needs to change as he needs competition. As for a centre half that is evident as the sooner the better we need an imposing character at the heart of our defence.

Or maybe just (a) pass the ball quicker and (b) show some fûcking ambition and have runners that go past the ball

Cork is a great player but takes too much time before releasing.

Cork can't pass the ball quicker he is one of the reasons the ball doesn't move fast as he's slow of thought

If I had been an owner watching that I would conclude that investment is needed now and not January. At a minimum we need a quality central defender and a creative midfield player, and kids will not do.

I hope that we includes the majority shareholders, chairman and manager. As has been said already that should stop the argument about the type of centre half we need.
The Official Swansea City v Hull City Premier League Match Day Thread! on 17:58 - Aug 20 with 1062 views | Birchgrovejack | No plan B at all today. Just get it down the wings and cross for Lorrente. Hull figured that out pretty quickly. I understand playing to players strengths but that tactic just takes siggy out of the game. Baston is another tall player hope it's not going to be the same tactic when he plays or it was pointless bringing them both in [Post edited 20 Aug 2016 18:02]

The Official Swansea City v Hull City Premier League Match Day Thread! on 18:21 - Aug 20 with 884 views | JackFish | Anyone still think Amat & Fernandez are good enough as a first choice partnership? They only had one player to deal with between them for most of the match and still managed to look all over the shop. And how on earth did they have a played unmarked three yards out for their opener? Shocking defending.
The Official Swansea City v Hull City Premier League Match Day Thread! on 18:22 - Aug 20 with 876 views | icecoldjack | Let's be honest, we got ripped off in signing fernandez. He can't pass 10 yrds and is bang average at everything else. I know many disagree but chico was twice the player. As for the game, it was always on the cards . Every time we play a supposed bad team we get turned over, Hull did well and worked hard, we were slow and lacked any kind of tempo and fight . Really poor from the players. Move on quickly please !
