Contract expires this summer allegedly.

Any progress reports? Haven't hear much about him since his England call up.

Was on the bench on Saturday - seems to be ahead of Robinson ATM, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see the latter until next season with a proper pre-season under his belt. In an ideal world we'd have those 2 as 1st and 2nd choice LB's next season and beyond.

One should go on loan

Spoke to an Orient fan about his loan spell there the other week. He said that he was pretty impressive when played at CB - good in the air and pretty physical for a young lad. But when he played at fullback, he didn't really have the composure or ball playing ability, and looked very much like a CB playing out of position.

I mean, that's not to say he can't play LB for us in the future, but it's a little damning if he looked a little clumsy even at League 2 level.

This is exactly what a mate of the lad I sit next to at QPR was told by a pal of his who is an O.

Hope this kid gets a run before the end of the season. Only seen him once, looked good and it really would be a treat to see a yoof player hold down a place in the First XI this side of 2050.

I think it also depends greatly who you are partnered with when playing CB. I reckon even I'd look class playing at the back with Clint Hill, but playing at the back with a liability like Chris Samba then even decent centre halfs are exposed to unnecessary pressure.

Rio Ferdinand (yes, I know) was very impressed with the lad. Thought he had all the attributes to be a top defender, probably at CB. I saw him play LB for the U21s in a video clip and he looked like a fish out of water. I suspect that the club would like to have sent him on loan but, either no opportunity came up or they needed the cover, especially with Clint's age. Lack of men's football has probably meant inadequate progress this season.
