Do we see anytime soon a female playing in the PL, or are we miles away from such a contentious consideration, but is it? It's been since forever the sole dominion of men, it will be interesting being in the showers if nothing else.

Is it really a man's world these days, I will remind you of something that will disprove this. What's a man's best friend a dog and a girls bloody diamonds I rest my case.

However, we do have but haven't her for quite a while, a female assistant referee in the PL..
I suppose the next logical question, is will she be the first female referee in the PL?

I don't mean to sound ignorant, why then don't we have men playing in the Women's Premier League?

Well honestly I think, that just giving the Women's football a bit of respect and treated with a facet of athleticism as apposed to being second class citizens in the sporting world. that Synthetic turf business is a shame.

Absolutely not.

I honestly believe a decent University 1st team would give the England women a good game.

The only hope of someone even getting close, is a Defoe type player who can find the net but has no strength.

Would we have to build a new dressing room for that one player? Or something akin to the baby changing room in leisure centres? The way construction at Swansea is handled it would take 5 years to build anyway and there would be rumours of a McDonalds drive through being built as part of it.

Will never happen in a contact sport. Could happen in some but don't think football is one of them

A decent Swansea League team would beat them, women do OK until 14/15 then men are just too physically strong

I dont know if the OP's question makes any sense, it's a bit like asking will we see anyone riding a motorbike winning the Grand National any time soon?

What I will say, however, is that I watched ten minutes of the women's World Cup last night, Germany v Norway, and I'd rather have watched paint dry. The skill levels were abysmal, it reminded me of under 11 games I've refereed where the ball seems to get stuck on or around the touchline for five minutes at a time, with an endless succession of throw ins, neither team having the nouse to evade close markers and pass the ball infield.

Some of the women players are very technical and play good football.
Unfortunately, we have players like Fellaini, Adam, Shawcross, Bardsley, Palacios, Odemturd (amazing how many thugs Stoke RFC have really!!) etc attempting to play football/ attempting to decapitate players. Are the ladies strong enough to cope with this?
Think it was that useless tw@ McNaughton who knocked the lovely Sian down (deliberately IMHO. Horrible sweaty sock!!). Fair play, she got up laughing at him.
So, based purely on the fact of physical strength, it's a no from me.
Based on the fact of them swapping shirts at the end of the game...?

If you wake up breathing, thats a good start to your day and you'll make many thousands of people envious.

I think it's a shame women's football gets shafted so much. In NZ the women would probably beat the men, and it's probably partly because neither the men or the women are all that highly paid (in fact, the men's side has more professional footballers but very few that play for 'big' teams or are on high salaries). I remember reading a story on the Beeb at some point about one of the England women who was going for her lawyer's bar. No professional male football player has to do anything like that - they're full time and get paid enough that when they retire a lot of them are set for life. Of course they're better players - it's the only career they'll ever need. This will not change unless British (in this case) audiences take an interest in women's football. There weren't players like Messi in the 1910s.

To the OP, it won't happen very soon, if ever. The problem is that the best women players (say Marta) lacks the speed, size, quickness, touch and speed of play (generally because she's used to having more time before defenses close on her). This isn't an indictment of the women's game, it can be enjoyable to watch if you enjoy a slower game that is very possession oriented (but some teams play more direct (such as the USA).

Several years ago, when the USWNT was the best women's team in the world, they would play the U17 boys team and it would be lopsided because the boys were much quicker than the quickest players on the team.

I remember in the early-mid 90's seeing one of the best women in the world, Kristine Lilly, playing on a men's indoor professional team - but she really couldn't compete against these men.

Andy Gray is to be in charge of promoting women in Premier League teams.

I may have not noticed staff on other teams but I think we are unusual in having the likes of Kate Rees, Alisa Jones and Suzan visible & important on match days
