New Defenders please 14:05 - Jan 24 with 4944 views | westolian | Strikers, formations PAH ! Let's stop conceding first - not sure our current crop can do the job (Nedum and Caulker maybe)so let's get some in Micah Richards ? Any more ???
| I've found a team sheet for the weekend - anyone interested ? |

New Defenders please on 14:08 - Jan 24 with 4932 views | Marc | If Micah Richards is the answer then I dread to think what the question is... Great athlete though.
New Defenders please on 14:48 - Jan 24 with 4877 views | traininvain | Micah Richards has been setting the world alight wherever he's played in recent years so what could possibly go wrong?
New Defenders please on 14:54 - Jan 24 with 4869 views | Dorse | His wages will be stupendously huge but I rate him. Right hand side of a three and he'd be brilliant.

New Defenders please on 14:54 - Jan 24 with 4867 views | TacticalR | There was an interview with Damien Comolli on Off The Ball this week and he was saying that there is a dearth of central defenders and everyone is trying to find one. It seems in the academies everyone wants to be a creative midfielder.

New Defenders please on 15:39 - Jan 24 with 4808 views | SpiritofGregory | Richards is another SWP. Let's stop going down this road to ruin. We need another striker and reinforcements in midfield. We have wingers that can't cross and the weakest central midfield in the premier league. Yes our defence is not great but our weak midfield does not offer much protection.
New Defenders please on 23:35 - Jan 24 with 4666 views | westolian | I never said Micah Richards was the answer but asked it as a question ! My point being, all I'm reading / hearing is formations and strikers Stop conceding and we are halfway there - god we lack pace in the right areas But Arry loves a striker

Totally agree with you but you and I seem to be in a minority on this forum. The majority seem to think our defence is fine and all we need is a decent striker.
New Defenders please on 09:01 - Jan 25 with 4590 views | Discodroids | you have a strong case, the stats show its the worse defence in the league,by some margin and christ knows what it could have been if not for robert green(kicking aside) being the reincarnation of gordan banks this season. like the look of Pocognoli from WBA at left back and Nzonzi at stoke in central midfield to provide cover in front of the back four , but as we seem to be rifling the damaged tin section round the back of icelands skip for recruits that would put fagins gang to shame, it looks as if ere gonna end up with reggae lite sensation Pato Banton. i know its a henoius crime on here but for me Dr feelgood dunne is a blu tack on a burst pipe measure, any one who dosent think the defence needs sorting out has been using bath salts as slow release suppositories. Id like us to persevere with Caulker and ned at center back , but its a dogs dinner defensively in the full backs , with little or no time and money to sort out. it really is a mess. New Defenders please on 09:41 - Jan 25 with 4562 views | baz_qpr | The defence issue is not personnel imho its a combination of team shape and team defending and an inability to retain the ball which means we are often on the back foot. Whilst there is a strong argument for a full back what we really need is a centre forward we can play off and defensive organisation which means defending from the front backwards throughout the team
New Defenders please on 14:35 - Jan 25 with 4503 views | RuislipHoop | With all due respect, you can call it however you want to, but the fact is we concede far to many goals and that is down to the personnel we have.
New Defenders please on 15:05 - Jan 25 with 4468 views | RangersAreBack | We clearly can't address all areas in January so for me the midfield is the question mark. The genuine wingers we possess (Hoilett,Phillips and SWP) just haven't delivered so Harry shoe-horns other players such as Fer, Vargas and Zarate into these positions. The result is a lack of service to Charlie and little protection for the full backs (Fer in particular is loathe to track back). In central midfield Mutch and Sandro are yet to get going, Faurlin is injured and Adel continues to frustrate, leaving us with a central midfield partnership of Barton and Henry. Whilst on paper this sounds like a solid shield for the defence, the lack of creativity from other midfielders means that they are under pressure to create. Joey is only to happy to oblige by attempting Hollywood passes when he'd be better served breaking up play and playing simple passes to someone creative. Combine this with an ageing defence lacking pace and it's easy to see why we concede so readily.
New Defenders please on 15:53 - Jan 25 with 4443 views | WeaverQPR | Defensively i think we have got enough. We bought players for 352, we should of stuck with it as with Yun and Isla you have two willing runners and out of our CB's we should have found a combination that worked. We even brought in a so called 352 specialist coach in Hoddle, for me its the coaching rather than the personnel.

I think if Dunne can last the season he will help onhua/Caulker beside him.. But at the end of the season we will need 2 new center halves... Ferdinand - gone Dunne - I do not think he would be fit for another season in the prem and do not think he would play another season in the championship Onhua - always prone to 1 major error per game Caulker - I am suffering buyers remorse here.. not what it said on the tin.... I think we now know the reason the big clubs did not go after him... although he may have been learning from Rio.. however tweeting is not a valued attribute on the pitch. Hill - Brave and a hero but as with dunne I do not think he would be fit for a season in the prem and would not stick around for a season in the championship Coll Donaldson - No idea what kind of player he is as we have not played him... So that's all the Center backs... looks lik eif we go down we in trouble and if we stay up we in trouble... doh

Disco you are bang on target. We looked best with Sandro and Yun both down. Surprise that we want M'villa ? Not really.

This. Although Adel doesn't continue to frustrate, Redknapp does by not giving him a proper run out and playing everyone else out of position!

Perhaps more accurate to rephrase to "the Adel situation continues to frustrate" as both Adel and Harry have frustrated in recent seasons.
