Routledge and Dyer not producing - stats back it up too on 21:31 - Jan 16 with 1915 viewsBonjour

No surprise there. Been saying it for ages. With the amount of ball they get if we had very good wingers we'd be fecking awesome.

But we don't.

great link that...mentions that Jeff 'won' the free kick that led to Siggys goal and that it was his 4th assist of the season! Since when was getting fouled an assist ? Great quality journalism there...

Your continuous slating of Dyer is very disappointing.
No mention of the fact that he was injured earlier in the season when he was flying, no mention of the fact that he still puts in a far better "shift" than Routledge or that he has scored 1 more goal than Routledge.
Your bias is showing with comments like him only being a "Championship" player.

Ha forgot the little chap is a real favourite of yours too

As pointed out Dyer is often up and down and at his best is absolutely brilliant for us. Had just come into blistering form when injured at Norwich last season.

What I do know is how important he has been for us again and again in chasing seemingly lost balls that have ended up as goals.

Remember that fabulous little chip to lay on Bony's goal at City?

After holding off the early threats from the hosts, the Swans stunned the Etihad by taking the lead after just nine minutes. Nathan Dyer's perfect flicked pass over the top of the Manchester City defence was chested down by Wilfried Bony, and the Ivorian calmly volleyed home past the onrushing Joe Hart from ten yards out.

We know how teams covet the strikers that score good goals against them (witness Wenger and Michu). Perhaps Nath set up the final piece in the Jigsaw that led to ManC coughing up all that dosh saving us having an expensive striker on the bench.

Some of the posts seem a little harsh on our current seasons top goal scorer - go Nath

He's been credited with the assist officially - it's an assist. So actually good journalism...

I wonder if age is starting to catch up with Routs. He turned 30 a few days ago which is near the end of a career for a winger, could potential be moved inside to play the AM role if needs must as he has done before.

Routledge has been god awful. How he continues to be in our squad, much less start is completely beyond me.

Right, let's bash two of our most important players! That's a good plan!

Alternatively, we could get behind them tomorrow and give them some confidence and encouragement. Form is always temporary, but class is permanent.

Nothing else to complain about aye, feck me we have some hysterical fans with short memories!

If this is a 'new' way of counting assists then it s 'officially' a crock of shite. There is no way a player fouled 20 times a season leading to a converted free kick each time has/should be credited with 20 assists...ahmm ooot !!

Yes everyone knows the 30th birthday is the start of the slippery descent from peak fitness to the grave. I haven't run a single marathon since I turned 30.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Are you familiar with the phrase throwing the baby out with the bath water

How long ago was it that Dyer became our top goal scorer THIS SEASON (check the stats)

How long ago since he did that perfect flick which enabled us to go ahead at the Etihad

Short sightedness - great way for a football club to progress - unless we really want to p1ss millions up the wall.

The trick is to squeeze out every bit of talent you know is inside those players and understand they will have ups and downs like almost all our players and most other PL players. That should not initiate a fire sale.

That's ridiculous given some of the performances he's put in at this level-including a fine run of form at the start of this season.

But he's certainly below par at the moment-Routledge too.

Agreed. They both got off to flyers. Montero came in and that interrupted things, but they'll be fine. Their form always comes and goes.

There are many supporters saying they need to up their game .

So I take it there must be something in this thread .

Take a closer look .

The pair defend well for us , certainly routs , they need to up their attacking game lately they really have been poor .

Your only good as your last game !!
