Tony F on 00:41 - Jan 11 with 2086 views | vblockranger | TF has been a disaster as a Chairman that might well effect the club for years to come, Carpetbagger with a big smile and patronising tweets. Front man for a bunch of businessmen with eyes on making a profit from OOC. Hope they make no money and they can stick there new ground up their arseholes. Chairmen should have the football club as their number one priority and we have NEVER been that to these lot. Absolute disgrace that they are still lauded as being good for the club.

Tony F on 01:32 - Jan 11 with 1996 views | PunteR | No he hasn't done a good job. At least Briatore knew when to step down. He came in with grand plans, got over excited and spunked all the money in the first couple of seasons. What i don't get is he got Hughes in and Rigg to start building the club, with new scouting system, youth policy new training ground etc and gave them untold funds to do this. Then scrapped all that, all long term planning and just concentrate on the short term. He wanted us to be self sustaining but has put us in a worse situation then before.

Just goes to show how little football knowledge he's really got. Like sending Les Ferdinand to run Air Asia. Bonkers. It's all turning sour.
Tony F on 01:37 - Jan 11 with 1993 views | CamberleyR | A very nice, personable bloke I'm sure but an overall disaster mainly due to his employment of Beard as CEO whose knowledge of football matters you could write on a postage stamp folded in four.

Tony F on 06:05 - Jan 11 with 1947 views | Westy75 | Unfortunately, no. And he now needs to hand control to someone that knows what they are doing and take a back seat place on the board. Unfortunately a low profile position isn't really his style but it's desperately needed.

He's never going to take a back seat. The whole point of owning QPR is to promote him and his businesses. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Tony F on 09:56 - Jan 29 with 1675 views | 00calben | Looks like the penny has finally dropped for everyone then....! He is an absolute clown who has dismantled and destroyed everything Neil Warnock did to bring this Club back together to be something to be proud of. As for the amount of debt he has got the Club in, it's absolutely disgusting.
Tony F on 10:06 - Jan 29 with 1664 views | QPR1882 | To answer the opening post No he has not,we are worse off now then when he took over.
Tony F on 10:18 - Jan 29 with 1673 views | THEBUSH | The short answer is, No, the main reason for me is the huge debt he has dumped on us. Saying that, us football fans are fickle and if he hadn't invested in players, he would have got stick for that as well. It's easy for us in hindsight to judge him, so lets hope he's learned his lesson and get our debt off our backs
Tony F on 10:39 - Jan 29 with 1653 views | Phildo | Has spent a lot of dough and seems a pleasant man. That money has got him and his businesses a much raised profile (which he seems to want) but that can be a double edged sword when you are not doing so well. He seems to have mainly kept the support onside despite the slow progress of various infrstructure improvements. Even now when we seem communally pished off there is not much interrogation of the new ground proposals. That site is going to make someone a bucket load of cash but will the club own the ground or be a tenant? What happens when it is sold on to someone else if we are not the owners? Not much examination of these issues going on. On the plus side we got wembley out of this era which was one of the highlights of my life.
Tony F on 10:43 - Jan 29 with 1647 views | johncharles | Tony, your reputation and the future of the club are hanging by a thread. Call Redknapp in and demand an explanation. How can he sell a player he bought just six months ago and loose nearly a million pounds on the deal ? Don't take any of that dyslexia crap. Sack him for gross incompetence and hold back his money. It's what any proper businessman would do.

Tony F on 11:23 - Jan 29 with 1606 views | W5R | I was worried that I was pishing in the wind. The answer is no. Probably as so many hated the previous regime many thought he was amazing. It's been clear from the outset he's a bit of a blagger. I remember reading all the articles from Malaysia when he first took over us and they likened his actions to that of British Airways when they were trying to crush Branson and Virgin Atlantic. There's a reason the tune group has, literally, 100 different companies and they are really not to be trusted. from his latest interviews he seems a bit "broken" and I don't put that down to the Air Asia disaster - something which is increasingly not looking like a freak accident with details now of a maintenance issue with the computers. I think he has bitten off more than he can chew with us and like Caterham as well as numerous other tune "projects" it appears to be on the verge of going tits up. I think it can be argued that he has been the worse chairman in our recent history (certainly in my lifetime) With the debt though what the heck can we do? His history with tune is not stepping down or aside its keep going till it either is a success..Air Asia being the only profitable current tune project or it going bankrupt like Caterham, the music business, one of the mobile businesses, 3 of the airline subsideries, the drinks venture and the short lived health club venture.
Tony F on 11:37 - Jan 29 with 1586 views | WeaverQPR | An absolute disaster, he thinks money fixes all. No leadership, no direction. We just limp along from one transfer window to the next. We are now so riddled with debt we are basically stuck with this clown now.

Wembley a plus ? With our budget we should have walked the league, yes Wembley was a good day out but it should never have come to that.

Tony F on 12:39 - Jan 29 with 1524 views | essextaxiboy | "The road to hell is paved with good intentions " I think he has struggled with the job so far but I believe that his intentions are honest and well meaning . By that i dont mean that he has not got a business plan to make money and raise the profile of both himself and his other businesses . He has made decisions that have been flawed and I dont think he is used to doing that . He and Beard appear to have been star struck with regard to the managerial choices and player contracts and salarys . I like him and with an eye on his other problems . He should be judged on how we finish this season , who he appoints as manager for next season and how we actually get on with the off field stuff. 5/10 so far IMO
Tony F on 12:41 - Jan 29 with 1521 views | daveB | I think he’s done some good , some bad and some pretty terrible things. Most of the bad has been listed from the money spent to lack of football knowledge and no real plan or ethos to match what has been said. One of his biggest faults has always giving the fans what they want. We called for Warnock to go so he went, we called for Redknapp we got him, we called for spending in every window (singing we buy who we want at him at West Ham after Remy) and we got it. He's now making noises about development of players and a stop to spending which is again what we've asked for, On the plus side I think he’s always backed his managers with the players or coaches they want even paid for a new pitch when asked. He has tried to communicate with the supporters. The return of fans forums plus regular meetings with the club has been good when before he came in we were completely ignored. They have also listened to concerns on issues like the family stand, away travel etc and acted upon things. Not perfect but an improvement. They’ve gone back to only giving away fans the top tier which is what fans had moaned about for ages and allows them to get more QPR fans in the door and has meant the efforts. The communication is a lot better as well. We actually have an academy now which we didn’t before and although we are miles behind other clubs that side of the club has at last seen some investment and interest from the top, it needs more obviously. The appointment of Ferdinand as a football person bridging the gap between manager and board was a again long over due but now it’s happened is a positive that can really help the club moving forward. I know many are not happy about Warren Farm and although the initial very ambitious plans have now been shelved it still looks like they will deliver something which will be a massive improvement on what we had before they arrived. The stadium as well will probably be similar and be scaled down if/when it actually happens. For me his biggest error has been that he needs a chairman at the club running things day to day, Flavio did that but employed a moron to make things worse but Fernandes should have looked around for one of the best football MD’s he could find to run the club day to day whilst he remains owner. I'd have moved to get someone like Jim Frayling back to the club. Failure to do that and have someone who not only understands football but understands QPR has been his biggest problem and lead to most of the cock ups made.
