He wasn't fair with everyone though, he even admitted he favoured his friends and even sunk as low to disclose personal information of at least one poster he took a dislike too.
All that aside, this site has a chance to self moderate to an extent and other mods are clearly in place.
It's probably best to have a forum moderated with as little bias and personal agenda as possible. Basilrobbiereborn clearly had various agendas with posters, anti Oyston comments and supporters as a whole.
He may well be a loss as a controversial and divisive agenda driven poster, but as a moderator, he'll not be missed.
Hope he keeps posting as anyone who dares to challenge or debate his views, he can't just ban anymore. | |

We virtually never see eye to eye on the subject which is undoubtedly behind this decision, and he has moderated me in the past on a basis which I felt were highly subjective rather than objective. However it is a thankless task generally, and it is difficult to stop your own firmly held beliefs from affecting your judgement on matters.
No one is perfect. I have no problem with him continuing on this site as a mod and absolutely hope his contributions continue as the always have done in volume and quality.
