Club Ownership / Directors 19:14 - Jun 15 with 33006 viewsPhil_S

There are a few questions floating around the various websites about Swans directors and their shareholdings

We have 9 directors in total who are

Huw Jenkins
Leigh Dineen
Huw Cooze (Trust representative)
John Van Zweden
Steve Penney
Don Keefe
Gwilym Joseph MBE
Martin Morgan
Brian Katzen

We also have two associate directors in David Morgan and Will Morris - these are both non executive positions

Of these 9, 3 of them - Gwilyn, Don and Steve own no shares in the club with the share ownership made up as follows

Martin Morgan 225,000 shares
Brian Katzen 200,000 shares
Swansea City Supporters Trust 200,000 shares
Huw Jenkins 125,000 shares
Robert Davies 100,000 shares
Leigh Dineen 50,000 shares
John Van Zweden 50,000 shares

(Many of these shares are not listed to the individual but businesses associated to them but I have used individual names for ease)

Overall share issue is 950,000 shares

yes - well, he said that he was 'the other side of London' which was why he couldn't add his corporate finance / mergers & acquisitions / JVs / hostile takeovers specialisms and sub-specialisms to the Trust Board.

To be fair ' the other side of London' could mean that he lives in Romford.

You're talking about Uxbridge, right?

Anyway, I am pleased you have toned things down a bit here Phil, because frankly you were having a f*cking mare in objective terms. And regardless of what you may think I take no pleasure whatsoever from you looking like an idiot.

Yes that's right I am having a mare despite having no interest in debating anything seriously with someone who craves attention so much that he believes having second edition books with a collection of post it notes actually impresses anyone.

And there is still nothing you could advise myself or the Trust on that is of interest or relevance. Especially as our adviser in these instances is laughing at your self ego stoking

You must have qualifications in your field. Post your certificates. Or some other official document that proves you do what you say you do. Something along those lines.

It's not the kind of information I'd put on a public forum of course. But I have never made any grandiose claims about myself either.

I'll put it up for him:

I had one similar exchange of "ideas" with him under one of his prior user names until I realized what he was doing. Since then I have him blocked. It makes following the thread a real detective story.

Fair play.

Could have taken that in a University Library. They have all kind of books there. If I was going to try and evidence that I owned a bookshelf, taking a picture of one of the books that was on it, in a picture of it I had taken, is not really evidence that I own the bookshelf. Maybe we should choose the next ones you select?
What an odd pastime for a successful analyst. Taunting football fans about how amazing he is at his job. In my experience people who are successful and clever don't need to brag about it. They just go out on their boats and snort coke off hookers jugs.
Instead of telling us how successful and clever you are, why don't you SHOW us how successful and clever you are?

Are you stupid as well as mad psycho boy, or are you merely trying to put you own unique nutty spin on this thread?

Let's just recap the progress so far:

Pages 2-8 I provided analysis showing the glaring weakness in the Trust's current approach of sitting around waiting to be able to buy more shares to take the shareholding to 25%. I then proposed a practical workable real-world framework that would take the Trust to a 25% shareholding in a fair and structured way, while defending my strategy against only the few salient points that arose from the gang of 3 and ignoring the slew of irrelevant nonsense and snide personal abuse that formed the mainstay of their 'contributions'.

Phil then made his aherm judicious ruling and I was absent for more than a weekend, while pages 9-10 were substantially taken up with Spratty revisiting various grievances before Phil then took it upon himself to start taunting me.

The rest as they say is more recent history, but although it was maybe unwise of me to respond to PuerilePhil - given what had gone before - a little payback seemed a good idea at the time.

It's obviously a university library.

Hmmm - not sure you'd have much luck searching for a M&A bookshelf and a frontispiece of one of the rarer ones...

Lovely bit of Photoshopping with the signed sticky note if he did...

Credit where it's due, eh?

Is that the "practical workable real-world framework" that I originally proposed, that you said wouldn't work and then passed off as your own idea?

They're not the same picture old chap. Plus who is either of us to judge the rarity or otherwise of that book, or indeed the ownership and location of said book? If I was, for example, a 1st year undergraduate, would my ability to access a library or a tutor's room with a few books in it mean I was then an expert in such matters? It's a bit like you arguing that Garry Monk's an expert tactician because he's got Alex Ferguson's autobiography on his bookcase.

Can only judge the chap on his contributions on his alleged area of expertise, an area a couple of others on here (not me may I add, beyond a theoretical knowledge that I've no doubt largely forgotten the finer points of) are also amply qualified to judge. Sadly he's been found a little wanting, just like in his previous roles as Shaky of the Bailey.

That's about as accurate a summary as Comical Ali summing up the progress of the Iraq war :-)

It wasn't your idea initially, you came up with a completely ridiculous and unworkable fudge job on how it could be done, containing inaccuracies, people pointed out to you why it was crap, you then went off on one about wining and dining shareholders as though there were hundreds of institutional investors involved rather than a group of mates.

You then started slagging everyone off again as being stupid or lying in some way, and we then moved on to pics of your billy bookcase which contains the sort of selection that I would expect to see from someone that was a junior but eager corporate finance bod some considerable time ago.

We have then had the whole 'meetings with Merrills in New York' bit and you explaining that you had 'left the City' (which I guess explains why your books are old) because you 'didn't like it' . Given your inflated ego, I would think that the potential to earn lots of money in the City would appeal to you so you were almost certainly bombed out.

Incidentally - on a different topic some time ago, you were explaining that your attitude was overly aggressive and rude because of the work that you do in corporate finance - you now say that you left years ago - which is it?

The problem about lying is that you need a good memory Shifty Shaky (trying here to appeal to your new found love of alliteration) .

If, as seems feasible, dividends continue or even increase, might it be possible to put some pressure on the other shareholders to "donate" a proportion of their shares to the Trust in order for the Trust to achieve a 25% stakeholding?

To get to 25% the Trust needs another 37,500 shares which equates to 5% of the remaining 750,000 shares. Therefore, if each of the other shareholders "donated" 5% of their shares to the Trust, Bob would be your uncle.

It would slightly reduce their share of any dividend but, on the basis that the Trust wouldn't need to continue building a "war chest" to enable purchase of further shares, perhaps the Trust could agree to receive a reduced proportion of any dividend in return.

Just a thought.

MattG -- Just to refresh our memories, this is what you wrote.

What it boils down to is you are proposing to ask other shareholders nicely to each give the Trust 5% of their shares.

Alas experience shows that although we may always hope for the possibility of charity, in the real world of business it is unwise to base our forward planning on its possible emergence.

Really?? What about reliance on your advice etc? How do you get round that? Or do you have your own limited liability consultancy firm with proper insurances etc etc, or by 'advise' do you mean you tell them stuff which they can't rely on and they have to permanently sign hold harmless letters?

No matter your qualifications or lack thereof, as far as anyone here is concerned, you're an anonymous person typing on a keyboard.

Phil on the other hand, has directly contributed to the survival of our football club. Not too surprising that most would back Phil over yourself, no matter how vaunted your knowledge may be.

Plus, as far as everyone else can see, you've haven't provided any constructive advice, so any idea of delivering payback seems pointless.

You know, Hobbes, some days even my lucky rocket ship underpants don't help.

As far as evidencing madness, I'd say this thread has done wonders for your chances of getting sectioned.
