The inevitable overreaction 16:38 - Jan 19 with 5716 viewsUxbridge

I've heard it all today. Laudrup should go, Jenkins should go, every single player is a cnt, should be beating the likes of Spurs even if 2/3 of the first team is out, the training pitch is the reason everyone is injured, gay marriage is causing us to lose etc etc.

Calm down eh. Never fun to lose 5 games out of 8, but they were all against top 7 teams. Excusable for that fact alone but especially so given the ludicrous injury list we're faced with. Fortunately everyone seems to be coming back just in time for the important games we've got coming up, and by Allah do we need them.

The time to panic isn't now. That time is if we lose the next three. Luckily we usually do much better against bottom half teams.

I'm not convinced by the "we've played the top teams" excuse. It's like saying we may as well just write those games off before they start. Under Rodgers we took some scalps. The best we've done under laudrup in the league is a win at arsenal and that's pretty much it. All it does is put pressure on the games against our main rivals who will be scrapping for survival. Got to say I'm not very confident at all at the moment.

Poll: Some scummer on the anus board reckons 80% of us want them to go down. so... do

I am not sure how an overreaction can stretch back nearly 12 months ???

How long do we need to wait to make a reaction?

We have been poor since we won the Carling Cup - 7 wins in 35 isn't it ?

It's obviously too much for some to handle, imagine if we were actually in the relegation zone.

its the players that matter they have become comfortable and have lost their edge

Our record in that time against the teams in the bottom half is pretty good.

Some need to hit the valium. I dread to think what the perchrock house of woe must be like. Look, our season starts now. 16 games to get 19 points and with 3 point start over the real dregs. Every game a meaningful test of our mettle over the next six weeks. What more can a fan want. Bring it on. Just maybe stay, watch and shout for the team eh? Today was embarrassing from the stands.

Not struggling to score Ux? The problem is that we look like conceding several a game! Chico cost us two today, when he plays (these days) we look vulnerable.
Why did we fold again second half?

I thought we'd turned a corner at the Man City game but it was a false dawn. Our injury crisis had deepened and our squad is paper thin with no sign of reinforcements.
Some of the problems are entirely if our own making.
And I'll keep repeating this question, why does Laudrup seem happy to concede defeat in certain games before a ball is kicked? Our players look beaten, mentally and physically.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Some of those 'real dregs' are collecting points and I understand the clarion call to the troops, but it's the manager who needs to proceed with that idea in mind; fans have been there all season.

Chico costs us a goal a game.
De Guzman slows down play.
Shelvey always gives the ball away.
Bony doesn't run around enough.
Vorm doesn't come for crosses.
Dyer doesn't take a man on any more.
Michu is selfish and doesn't play for the team.

Any more for the complete cliche collection?

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Er ... that's what I said.

As for Chico, rather harsh although today isn't the reason I'd start Amat ahead of him. I'm confident we'll score goals when everyone is fit, or even just some of them. Bony is great at the moment.

Umm yes he did, he scored an own goal and was out of position for another.

He's become a liability recently. And plenty agree.

Great op Uxbridge...we are not done yet
can we split this forum into two halves please.....one for the positive people who are true fans and one for the one eyed moaning idiots who ruin this forum
Its only a game...yes I came home depressed but if Bony had scored instead of hit the bar we would have gone on to stuff spurs...such is prem life hey ho onwards and upwards now then!

Every day I thank the good Lord for the blessings he gives me. Every new day gives me a new opportunity to laugh at the red chumps up the road.

Laudrup's body language is defeatist.
Donnelly deserves a chance.

At least the Tremmel is better than Vorm bollox has abated of late...

Quite. Where was Ben? Defence is my main concern as think rest will take care of itself when everyone's back. Let's not forget we had an entire second string midfield 5 for most if not all that game.

Yes there are other factors but he put the ball in when under no pressure with no opportunity player challenging him.
We can always question what led up to the ball getting there but the fact remains, he applied the finish. If he'd let it going would have gone clear across the area. So apart from poor marking there's poor communications too.
In trying to absolve Chico you just unearth more problems!
Are you denying Chico has been poor for a while now?

Exactly. You can't educate pork, Andrew.
It came off Chico, mun - own goal see, innit!

Both full-backs were more to blame than Chico for the first goal as well.
