Swans close to another signing so we breakdown his history

He’s a an out and out right winger and from Liverpool, so pace and skill are high up on his attributes, and this week should see him signing for the Swans.

Kaide Gordon comes from a football family with brothers who are at Derby and Notts County. But it is he who has excelled at one of the best clubs in the world. The main issue will be his history of injuries, however Liverpool believe he is fit and over his long lay off (18 months) have rewarded him with a long contract. (March 2024) Signed from Derby County in 2021 Kaide has earned recognition for being a player ‘beyond his years’

We left it until this morning to wait for a breakdown of his skills base from a contact at a local news source. He is described as diminutive in stature, and deceptively quick. The main issue will be a thorough medical which will expose muscular issues and pressure on his skeletal system. It’s the historical extent of them, and if they are completely healed that will determine the Swans signing of Gordon. These days injuries cannot be hidden so a full medical will take slightly longer. One of our subscribers who has helped before in explanations of medical issues tells us that it seems Kaide suffered from RSI (repetitive strain injury) in the affected area due to repetitive motion. We respect that so what about treatment ?

We are told that this type of injury (without knowing the exact diagnosis) is excessively painful and requires strong meds to alleviate discomfort. The areas affected require long term physical treatment, which explains Gordon’s eighteen month lay off. All manner of complimentary things can be done by the player. Walking when able to do so, lifestyle changes if they are having an impact, rest of course with a potential for a series of operations will remedy the issue in the short term. The player has to help themselves with long term exercises daily.

We are hopeful that Gordon comes to Swansea with a complete good bill of health and raring to go. He will take time to settle, but at nineteen and with his pedigree that shouldn’t take long.

Although Gordon’s career to date has seen a lengthy lay off he still has the full confidence of his parent club, Liverpool don’t hand out long contracts for no reason. We should know more on this very soon, the clubs have spoken and despite the injury issues he would be a superb addition to the Swans squad. We just hope it isn’t an either or for Gordon and Providence.
