Swansea City Special : The must win game that both sides must win !

The Swans assembled this morning at Fairwood with three new faces to meet and greet from the latest transfer window. Ronald, Saigo Jr and Przemysław Płacheta all come in. Ronald Pereira Martins on a permanent transfer, Placheta on a short term contract and Saigo Jr on loan until the end of the season.

The news wasn’t greeted with huge positivity. A certain section of the Swans support do have it in for Sporting Director, Paul Watson. He seems to be getting more stick for his transfer business at the Swans. A banner at Coventry City away and someone who thought it a good idea to go to the Premier League darts and hold up a ‘Watson Out’ sign.

Crazy.

The Swans face Plymouth Argyle tomorrow at the Swansea.Com in a Championship fixture both sides are desperate to win. They too have sought out loan players during the January window. Ashley Phillips, Darko Gyabi, Alfie Devine and Lino Sousa all head to Home Park. Adam Forshaw was also signed. Morgan Whittaker will captain Plymouth tomorrow, allegedly the interest from Italy in a potential transfer to Lazio was dismissed by the player. Good news for Argyle because when this lad throws a strop he becomes a completely different animal. Not really sure how good his Italian is either ! The non transfer of Whittaker meant the Swans wouldn’t get their sell on clause activated either. We are pretty sure he will be off in the summer.

Plymouth LIVE report : Finn Azaz, Luke Cundle, Kaine Kesler-Hayden and Lewis Warrington were all recalled from loan spells, while Macaulay Gillesphey and Matt Butcher completed permanent moves to Charlton Athletic and Wycombe Wanderers respectively. Tyreik Wright also joined Bradford City on loan.

A busy month for Plymouth.

Swansea City have won five out of the last six meetings between the clubs in all competitions. The other game was drawn. An in form Swansea beat the Pilgrims at Home Park back in October, a pretty decent game to watch. 3-1 to the Swans was the final score. The Swans have so many injuries now it is going to require an assessment later, post head coach, Luke Williams pre match report. However, we warn you the news isn’t good.

A memorable link between both clubs is Sean McCarthy, (above) he played nearly a hundred games for the Swans and over one hundred and fifty times for the Pilgrims. Sean was a big lad, loved a goal and had a very good career. Well over five hundred professional games and getting on for one hundred and eighty goals.

We will have much more on this game later and in the morning on the Indy.

Swansea City to a man : A total unprofessional embarrassment
Swansea City presented another pathetic performance to the travelling Jacks, some of whom had taken seven hours to get to the game today. The lack of effort was almost a V’ sign to head coach, Luke Williams and if that is the case we have some troubling times ahead of us.

Swans ‘Ready to Strike’, some context on those transfers in January
The fact Swansea City fans will have to navigate train delays, roadworks, and at the very least a six hour one way journey to Hull tomorrow will most certainly always be our main news. We’ve covered that already. So we move to transfers in January.
Swansea City : Mental agility, toughness, commitment & desire needed this weekend
With the Hull City away game an early kick off this Saturday (12.30pm) MKM stadium the Swans have the usual slim selections to choose from. With Swans head coach, Luke Williams looking unlikely to dip into a form player from the U21 squad it’s very much as you were. By slim we pretty much mean what he had last week.
The absurdity of the EFL when it comes to Swans fixtures
Swansea City will travel on Friday to play Hull City in an early kick off the next day (12:30pm) at the MKM stadium. Hull are based within the East Riding of Yorkshire. The old medieval wool port with far better access since the building of the Humber bridge in 1981 has housed a football team since 1904.

Swans have no answers against Sunderland : Same issues for Luke
In another game of goals the Swans again snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, and yes that age old term is being used far too often this season. Even when it comes to losing a point. Today however, all three were lost and the best team won the day.
