That transfer warning from Luke Williams gets louder and louder !

We published a story back on January 4th which was promptly used by Wales On Line five hours after it hit our website. The main emphasis of the report was Luke Williams clearly stating what a lack of support for a manager can do for overall relationships within the club.

We will give you the context of the report here. It contains direct quotes from Luke Williams.

It may sound like a general warning from Luke Williams but he has mentioned on several occasions that support from within the club he is employed at is paramount. In fact the most important thing for him. That’s below.

”Often the bar is set slightly higher than what’s comfortable for everyone, but what you want is to know the club are trying to help you achieve the goal they have set for you. That’s the big bit. I’ve been in situations when the target has been set very high, but the level of support has been very low. That’s an awful combination that leaves you feeling like there’s nowhere left to turn”

This morning we can only ask the question, is this still the case ?

As we know Russell Martin was let down dramatically last year in January when no signings were made. And remember the same quotes we hear this month are easily found from then Chairman Julian Winter leading up to the last January window - ‘months of hard work had been done to get ready for January’ This year Luke Williams has stated that he believes the right things are being done, and Alan Sheehan believed players are on the way.

Luke Williams :"I don't want to talk about specifics. I can say there is a lot going on. In an ideal world, the window opens and a guy arrives the next day. But in reality you are in the marketplace for good players, not for someone no one wants, so then you have to accept that for every time we try to make a negotiation, maybe two or three others are doing that. We are trying to be the strongest and most appealing club. And then, if I was a player in the window, you'd probably say, 'OK, I'm at a good club, doing well - otherwise no one would be talking about me - so let me wait, wait, wait'. There's a reason everything goes crazy on deadline day and everyone is in the training ground with a box of pizza waiting for the last-minute phone call. Look how many deals they didn't get the paper work in for because people are waiting and waiting, reviewing their options. But we are there trying to be the most appealing one.”

Okay, so with the Andrew Coleman quotes, and there are many ( see below ) it really does sound like we are in for some excellent news by next Wednesday. The comments by Luke Williams above from last week clearly indicate he is one hundred percent certain ( Okay, ninety nine ) that things are in place to make transfers happen. However we have to read in to his comments made before he came to Swansea City, they are to be remembered because we have a club that constantly makes the same issues for themselves. Sacking or getting rid of managers in the Championship when the hard work is looking like it could pay off is bizarre ( not Michael Duff ) But we have new blood at the Swansea.Com, new faces with what we are told is a deep belief that they will make the club a better place again.

Below are the reports that have lead up to this mornings article.

Nobody in their right mind would make such transfer admissions if they weren’t true, it’s absolutely pointless. And if Luke Williams is of the same mind as he was when he made those comments about being supported, then we can only assume and trust that all is well, and all will end well too.
