Swans head coach Luke Williams disclosed that some of his players currently sidelined through injury will be out ‘long term’ This was expected and has caused some selection issues for tomorrows big game against Southampton. (KO 12:30pm). LIVE on Sky.
First off, Luke’s assessment on his defenders.
Ben Cabango : ‘Not ready yet, but we think he will be out on the grass again very soon but this one is a bit too early for him’
Harrison Ashby : The Newcastle loanee has suffered a long lay off. ‘Light training , I expect him to train fully today, so he can be available’
Josh Key : ‘A bit more long term, I think once we get a better understanding of when he can be back on the grass,I can hopefully let you know’
No reference was made to Azeem Abdulai.
Sam Parker : ‘We have to be a bit more calmer and wait to see the extent of that so I don’t want to really, you know put any timescales on it at the moment’
Liam Walsh : ‘Liam is going to take some time, he had a bit of time off, but he’s back at the club which is great, now he has a journey in front of him to get strong enough to be able to train’
The Liam Walsh admission is an interesting one. We’ve reported many times on his injury issues. It would be wrong of the club to offer him a new contract before the summer. His comeback this time was longer than unusual

Josh Key is of some concern, this is his second long term spell out this season and this one looks like being as long as the first. Good news though reference Ben Cabango, although we don’t expect to see him too quickly.
