Swansea City head coach Michael Duff is confident that his squad can deliver their first win of the season against Bristol City in the early kick off at the Swansea.Com Stadium tomorrow ( 12.30pm )
The game isn’t being covered LIVE by Sky TV.
It would be easy to forget the game ahead this weekend with transfer deadline day with us until 11pm UK time tonight. A real distraction for every professional club and something that really needs resolving, it’s unsettling and unnecessary.
Bristol City ahead -
Duff reported yesterday, "Everyone came through the other night, we had a couple of knocks and everyone should be fine for the weekend. Walshy is on the grass but has not had any contact work and needs a pre-season really so he is a little while away. We are looking to build on the positives in our recent performances, we are looking to stitch together the good parts of what we have done in the last two games on Saturday."
Defeat to Bournemouth -
On the recent defeat at home to Bournemouth he seemed pleased, "I thought we were good, I thought the structure of the team was good. Disappointed to lose the game, but we are at a point at the minute where we are trying to implement certain things, like structures and processes, like all these sorts of words, like buzz words, but it’s true, it’s what we are working on. I was really pleased with the performance”
Three in ? -
On transfers Duff expects new players in today. "Hopefully there will be some bodies in the building to bolster the squad. Ultimately we have to do what we’ve done for the last two games then stitch them together in to one. We’ve got lots of irons in the fire, ultimately we are in for players, there’s nothing to talk about as yet " On Nathan Wood there still hasn’t been an offer that matches the Swans valuation, amd Duff agreed. "It’s the same as, as you were, there’s a valuation on him, it hasn’t been met, he’s stil our player. It’s football it’s pretty ABC, Joel Piroe had a valuation, Leeds met it, he got sold. The club have got a valuation, if it gets met he will be sold” On incomings Duff wants a few in and confirmed that there could be three new arrivals, "We are hoping two or three, three hopefully, whether they come through or not we will wait and see. It won’t be through lack of trying” On the striker situation Duff replied, "You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to see what we are looking for, we will be trying to fill those areas yes”
