Lee Buchanan signature getting closer for Swansea City
As we reported last week Lee Buchanan is close to signing for Swansea City. The Werder Bremen defender has been determined to find the right club when he returns to these shores, and it seems another shrewd move by Sporting Director Paul Watson and his recruitment team has again paid off.
Lee does have a long contract to satisfy and will cost the Swans a considerable sum of money to lure to the Swansea.Com stadium. With excess cash in the bank for now and team building a priority we see Buchanan as a certain first team player when the season starts.

Several clubs were chasing Lee including Coventry City and Birmingham City but it seems this morning he has decided to go with the Swans after a steady season in Germany. Although everything isn’t sorted as yet, we expect the final details to come to fruition very soon.
It seems Lee has enjoyed his time in Germany, but the experience also seems to have confirmed his football future needs to be elsewhere. With a contract running until 2026 in Germany he will cost the Swans a fairly big fee, but his salary will be easily negotiated.

Swans in another goal glut game but no finishing power If we look at the players who just are not performing for the Swans then three new bodies are needed come January. If these individuals can be replaced it may well give the Swans the lift they need, especially in games like today. Having said that the Swans had more than enough chances to win this game today.
Swans v Pompey : An odd connection & pre match chatIt’s match day again, when you play on a Wednesday they really come round quickly. After today v Portsmouth at the Swansea.com (3pm) the Swans will have a week off … before travelling to Luton for a game next Saturday.
Swansea City ready to increase misery on Pompey ? The last time Portsmouth played was on November 9th. That day they beat Preston 3-1. Bearing in mind that came before the International break and some twenty one days ago tomorrow they certainly do come into this game fresh.
Swansea City turn the tables on their bad luck & beat Derby I am going to make no apologies for this match report. The win was deserved, but how it came about after so many poor performances in the second half I will never know. I haven’t been watching football as long as some and I am delighted of course the Swans got the points. However, we have seen teams do that to us for a few seasons. Just maybe for once it was our turn ?
