Michael Obafemi on loan to Burnley confirmed

Burnley have agreed a loan deal with Swansea City for Michael Obafemi. The overall figures equate to around four million pounds for the player.

The furore caused by the player has enabled him to secure a move to Burnley which hopefully is the start of some real transfer business by the Swans. There are a few things to straighten out after more discussions today and although it’s speculation away from Swansea independent it seems a medical will go ahead today.

Bank securities have been agreed for the payments for Obafemi who is now officially a Burnley player. The fee reported is around four million pounds, and there are some clauses to be finalised but they will be nothing unusual in todays climate regards football transfers. This also gives the Swans opportunity now to pursue players prior to the deadline on Tuesday.

The coaching staff will breath a huge sigh of relief if the final knockings of this ridiculous saga can be brought to a conclusion today. Obafemi has been problematic since arriving at the club as Burnley will soon find out. His fifty one appearances for the Swans will soon be forgotten if the club can do some business on the back of todays news. There are other targets to conclude and we expect a flurry of rumours and speculation with five days of the window to go.

Chiedozie Ogbene must now surely be the priority for Swansea City.

Stoke v Swans : The biggest test so far for Matos
The goals are flying in from distance this past few weeks, and some have been spectacular, Liam Cullen adding to the collection on Tuesday with another strike. In fact the turnaround on shots on goal to the eye is quite breathtaking. Especially when the ball is hitting the back of the net.
The Swansea player who killed himself at the Vetch, Uri Geller and his dark spirits …
Being someone with a thirst for history and its connections to the club I have followed all my life I was quite taken by the story of Tich Evans, a Swansea player who signed for the club for £100 at the end of World War One. In fact it all came to light when Uri Geller came to the Vetch Field and spoke of ‘dark spirits’ in the old centre stand.
Cullen strike as Matos celebrates his first double !
Vitor Matos grabbed his second win on the bang as the Swans beat Portsmouth in what can only be described as a mediocre game by recent Swansea standards. Mediocre it may well have been but these are the games to win, and this was one hell of a six pointer. In this crazy league that puts the Swans eight points off the play offs and six from the last relegation spot.
