Sunderland striker linked with Swansea City

Sunderland goal scorer Ross Stewart has been linked with the swans after a very exciting season for the Wearside club. The swans are not the only club interested but Russell Martin makes it his business to be personally involved in transfers as we saw with Cyrus Christie.

There is definitely credibility to the latest transfer rumour coming from Scottish newspaper the Daily Record. The swans have already been in touch with the Black Cats who are extremely reluctant to see him leave. He will be very crucial to their continued success this season despite a midweek set back against Lincoln City.

Scoring eighteen league goals this season Stewart joined Sunderland for what was described as an ‘undisclosed fee’ a year ago from Ross County. He has always scored goals and has a decent games played return over the years. At twenty five Stewart would no doubt be interested in making the step up to Swansea, however the fee would be high and with other permanent transfers under discussion for cash the ‘interest’ could just be that.

73 goals in around 190 professional appearances will entice many clubs to have a look at the player. However, Sunderland would want around a million pounds for their prized asset and at this stage of the season they would much prefer him to stay with them. They are currently joint top of league one with Rotherham United.
