Morgan Whittaker also doesn’t travel to Barnsley

Morgan Whittaker who featured for Swansea City’s Under 23 side on Monday against Charlton Athletic has not travelled to Barnsley for tonight’s fixture. Along with Michael Obafemi he has been left out of the squad. Although we haven’t had it totally confirmed it isn’t believed either player is injured.

Both Morgan and Michael have struggled since joining the swans, the former surprisingly so as he has shown some very special glimpses of his talent, and most certainly knows where the net is. That leaves the door open tonight for Liam Cullen as a back up striker, if indeed Russell Martin decides on his usual formation at Oakwell this evening.

Leaving two of his strikers in Swansea really narrows down the managers options, he has shown a preference to substitute Joel Piroe with around twenty minutes of a game remaining. Also, now if Piroe does get injured Swansea City’s firepower will take a drastic hit.

We will report the swans team news later.
