"We Want To Do Well In The Cup"

For me this season the Swans have every chance of good progression in the cup competitions without having a detrimental effect on their league performances due to the excellent work that we put into the squad in the summer.

In recent years we have played 'weakened' teams in the cup competitions and they have looked weaker but as it stands now we have the capability to progress with enough changes to keep our league form intact but also have a strong team to play in the cup competitions.

If you look already at the game against York tomorrow night then we have the likes of Nordfeldt, Tabanou, Dyer, Routledge, Britton, Rangel and Eder all to come in and that is just for starters as we are certainly going to have some of the first team regulars on the bench should we need them.

That will almost certainly be enough for us to get past York in the second round and as we know too well the further you get the stronger the opposition but then the stronger your team will look in response. Of course you need a stroke of luck somewhere in a cup competition but we are certainly good enough to progress all the way if we get that stroke of luck.

Lukasz Fabianski says that the Swans want to do well in this competition "We can't forget about the cup game because that's really important to us. We want to do well in that competition.

"Then we have a big one against Manchester United at home. I wouldn't say it's about bouncing back after Sunderland as we were disappointed not to win."

Honestly Luke do you really believe your PR ! Swans crash at Pompey
If Swansea City could be any more unimaginative and weak in an away fixture this season it will signal that Luke Williams really hasn’t got the credentials to lead this Swansea team to anything other than complete mediocrity. The very fact he is being linked with West Bromwich Albion (it isn’t a rumour Luke, as you well know) tells us he has already lost heart in this Swansea side, and his reluctance to speak truthfully about it is an insult to Swansea fans.
