Mane Could Be Back For Swansea Game

Sadie Mane could be available for selection against Swansea City on Sunday after Senegal were nicked out of the African Cup Of Nations.

Senegal were eliminated from the tournament after a 2-0 defeat to Algeria this evening and finished third in their group and therefore are now out of the tournament.

This is bad news for Senegal but good news for Saints who will now hopefully have Mane back at just the right time after the injury to Shane Long.

Mane went off to the tournament after his injury against Arsenal on New Years Day but he seems to have recovered well and although he was an unused sub in the opening game for Senegal, but he played the full 90 minutes in a draw against South Africa on Friday and another 68 minutes this evening with seemingly no reaction

It is likely that Saints will not risk him in the starting line up on Sunday for a variety of reasons not last that not only has he just come back from his injury but there will be the tiredness from travelling back from the tournament etc, however he will be a great option from the bench.

His return could not have come at a better time and will offer Ronald Koeman another attacking option at a time when his resources are extremely stretched.
