There Was Only Ever One Result?

Let's be honest here - was there ever anyone who really believed that anyone other than Garry Monk was going to get the award? Especially not after the Swans start to the season?

People can crow about Chelsea all you want but they were expected to be up there at this point in time and we were not. Therefore, the only winner could be Garry who steered his side to four wins from four in the month of August and a place right at the top end of the Premier League table as his side went into the international break.

An opening day win at Old Trafford was followed up by home league successes over Burnley and West Brom which were sandwiched around a Capital One cup win over Rotherham.

That was always going to be enough to secure him a first managerial award and came off the back of a run that saw the Swans win three of their last four league games last season too.

With form like that it is no wonder that Garry is seen smiling as he holds an award that many have tried for but not all of them win over the course of time.

"It’s an honour and privilege, but it’s very much a collective — it’s not about individuals. For me, it’s about the players, myself, the staff around me day-to-day and the staff in the office working hard. This is who I dedicate the award to,” said Monk.

"We have made a great start, but that’s all it is — a start. There will be ups and downs but we will make sure that we maintain our standards and that should see us achieve a good season.”

It is good to see he retains his feet firmly on the ground despite this great accolade and what is to say that come the end of September he doesn't have another one? A win at Chelsea tomorrow will set him on that way...

A point gained for the Swans : Allen isn’t dead Baggies !
Just over 14,600 attended this game at the Swansea.com. Take away the visitors support and around 13,000 Swans fans were allegedly at this game. Season ticket holders are always included whether there or not and the ground look very bare. If there was eleven thousand home fans at this game I would have been surprised. That’s a good few thousand who have stayed away this afternoon. And well down to what we could have expected on the last Saturday before the majority return to work on Monday.
Swansea City v West Bromwich Albion, plus Villa winger out of reach
This morning we focus on a game which has lost itself to what we can call ‘football fatigue’ Especially after some of the extraordinary fall out after Luke Williams press conference yesterday afternoon. Unbelievable nonsense on one of the other websites, faceless, nameless and very obsessive.

Swansea City : Does Luke know what he is doing to our club ?
There has been much comment and it has to be said bar a few abusive idiots on social media a lot of frustration on those platforms regards Harry Darling and Luke Williams. Much of this brought about by the reluctance of Luke Williams to just clarify his position at Swansea City.
