Swans Sign Emnes To Sea Of Apathy

Swansea City have made another transfer window signing with the capture of Marvin Emnes on a loan until the end of the season but the signing was not exactly met with a wave of approval for Swans fans.

Emnes seems to be lined with the Swans every transfer window after spending some time here on loan back in 2010 but this is the first time that the Swans have seen the chase through to completion on a day where none of their reported targets seemed to come anywhere near completion.

Emnes joins David N'gog as new signings for the first team whilst the arrival of three more players is designed to strengthen the Under 21 team and give the Swans extra options for the future.

Whether this is our last trip into the market this January remains to be seen but based on the reactions on both Twitter and the forum here on Planet Swans at the moment the reaction is not one of positivity over the signing.

However, the reaction is just that - a reaction - and Emnes is here for the rest of the season and gives us another option to bring onto the field if we need a striking option from the bench which is what has been cried out for in recent months.

It may not have been the signing that many predicted and it follows on the heels of missing out on several transfer targets but one thing is certain the signing has not weakened the squad in any way shape or form.

There have also been positives in that Fulham's move for Neil Taylor appears to have been rebuffed.
