Who can afford a sky subscription these days ??

Well the current Prime Minister has said as a child he had a less than fully privileged background. He didn't have Sky TV...

Vote for Rishi no Dishi !!!!

How on earth could he have survived with such an underwhelming existence !!!!

If all our players were on a pay as you play contract under Ainsworth, we would only be paying Ilias and all the others would actually be owing us money as they certainly werent playing football during the great ones reign of Loftus!!!

I end up pressing the wrong number that means that there are no more options and i get cut off and have to start again

Couple of years ago - I had to wait 1 hour and 45 minutes to speak to the doctors receptionist and as soon as she asked me what was the reason for my call, my mobile conveniently decided to run out of battery,

I had 57% charge when I initiated the call so thought that would be plenty !!!!!!

So emotional !!!

What a man !!!

An unbelievable achievement !!!

Cycling tours probably the most punishing, stamina sapping sport.

He's nearly 40 years old. So pleased for him as he would have just hated it for the rest of his days if he could not have done this.

Top man

Not that it means anything but maybe good bet for Sports Personality of the Year. .

History has been made today !!!

The only advantage of a 12.30pm home game is I get home in time for tea, instead of a healthy option out and about such as a Pukka Pie, a McDonald's or consummate amounts of peanuts.

My stomach will be grateful at least.

We will have more 12.30pm kick offs than 3pm as saw the minimum number of televised games we will be on is 24 times.

I reckon with ourselves it could be approx 32 games in the league !!!

It's the start of a mad mad world !!!

Cue something happening tomorrow here and November in the United States.

But as long as Marti stays loyal, all is well.

I think if we are offered £2.4 million for Paal, which seems to be flying around, then that's a decent price.

But only if we have a solid dependable replacement

I like both Fox and Larkeche but realistically Fox is a centre back and Larkeche is young but only had games sparingly so far and more in an attacking position as against full back but despite Paal being Mr Dependable, it's a decent amount of money.

If Palace sell Eze though, I would personally keep Paal.

Is Paul Furlong still here ???

If he is, think he should start getting concerned !!

Saying that, am not up to speed and he probably left 18 months ago.

As long as his wage demands are realistic.

Has had a few injuries and older .but there seems to be something about our fitness team that seems to be working. Hopefully it is due to this, rather than a run of good fortune.

I would have him here myself also. Seemed dedicated to ourselves when here.

All depends on the money though.

No worries Padula

It wasn't you alone. There was a bit of a pile on !!!

But it's OK. As my old nan used to say. It's brilliant that everybody is different.

And yes likewise, I do see the logic of your argument in today's transfer market place and totally get the valuation figures etc, just think transfer fees are massively warped these days way beyond their values.

I remember getting excited when we signed Roy Wegerle for just £1 million, I think in 1990. What a player...

I just said £40 million for an 18 year old who played one season as midfield / right back. He has no goals or assists but that's not his game

Appreciate the fee spread over several seasons etc and loans etc but I just feel figures are way out.

And I wasnt t saying eight ilias chairs ie the same players in the same positions, I was suggesting this is one at right back , one at left back ie covering each of our positions on the pitch. ie of chairs level but yes that point was made from our perspective of ownership at Rangers.

I am entitled to say the valuations to me are bonkers but it is what it is.

Anyhow seems like all and sundry all wanted to pile in on me as enemy number one just fot stating my particular opinion. Feeling a bit battered and beaten down.

People have been misreading what I was attempting to convey , but hey ho !!!

Over and out !!

I have heard a rumour we are in a deal for Archie Gray in a straight swap deal for Ilias and his seven brothers !!!! 😆

So you are saying he has the potential to be a Jude Bellingham and the premier league club could pay the £40 million because he could develop to Jude Bellingham class.

That argument has zero validity

There are many many many prospects - there are amazingly few that are Jude Bellingham level - he is a one of a kind of his generation

You said all of those things in how you were justifying him being rated at £40 miliion right now - you were saying he is worth £40 million at 18 and only one season in championship because has the potential to be a £100 million player

He is not worth anywhere near £40 million now and my point made by buying eight Ilias Chair type players in different positions at Ilias's level age and experience and skill quality makes way more sense

You said he is worth £40 million now to a premier league outfit

My point really was I would prefer eight £5 million Ilias Chair type players as to one Archie Gray. And i would imagine 99.9% would agree.

But football world is bonkers !!

Wasn't shouting - just used CAPS to emphasize key point - just words on a screen. No problems

Likely he will be a £100 million player. You get nine more years of his career.

Really.

That's not a given at all. He is a young boy who has never ever played one game at the highest level.

Seriously !!!

If he has only played 44 games and also only at championship level surrounded by premiership players at a massively rich club at that level and he is 18.

He might be focused now but whose to say in a couple of seasons he goes off the rails and there have been many many players who have been capped at every age level and disappeared off the radar for a whole variety of reasons. Not been in an England squad as many have not. And many get capped at every age level and never make the grade when they big boys.

What's the guys name we had on loan from Leeds who went to Sunderland. Jack Clarke. Wasn't he at Spurs at some point also!!!

Performing at a relatively decent level in the championship for a season is no chance a guaranteed £100 million player and for nine more seasons to come. That is far from guaranteed.

Total shot in the dark, i would say !!

Eight Ilias Chairs qualIty type players for four seasons who all guaranteed quality throughout their career to one potential season but for an untested and not guaranteed real deal for just one player and priced highly because he is a teenager.
THATS EIGHT PLAYERS OF QUALITY FOR FOUR SEASONS WHO HAVE PERFORMED WELL FOR SEVERAL SEASONS against

ONE PLAYER WHO IS A YOUNG BOY WHO ONLY HAS 44 CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES AS A YOUNG BOY PLAYING WITH TEAMMATES WHO MOST ALREADY PLAYED AT PREMIER LEAGUE LEVEL AND DIDNT EVEN ACHIEVE PROMOTION FROM LOWER LEAGUE...

Are you an agent by any chance. You not got my money sire !!!

We will chat about this in a couple of years time. Money down the drain

If we had Eight chair type quality players in different positions we would easily get promoted and getting all Eight for four seasons also. That would change the club's position big time but if we signed Archie Gray for all that money combined. That's the deal.

Remind me to quote for your new bathroom.

Think you could well be one of those clients that pays over the odds !!!!!! 🤣

Seriously though I can see where the value is and it's not with Archie Gray !!!

MADNESS tbh

But that is football. So far removed from the real world of business sense.

I don't know much about him as a young player but why if he is worth around £40 million, why if we are realistic why could we only really expect £5million for Chair..

We ran rings round that team of underachievers last term !!

If anyone cam explain valuations of players to me, would like to know.

A player that has performed for several seasons as against a prospect with little experience

Worth 8 ilias chairs !!!

I know he has court case hanging over him but is it because Leeds are a big name of many years and also they ripping off a club who have had premier league funding for several seasons !!!@

What I was saying about our fans only accepting winning in the final as acceptable for England under Southgate, I believe is totally valid.

If we lose in the final, our fans will be on Southgates back as general belief is that we have a generational talent throughout the attacking elements of our team and any success is on the players and with Southgate all reasons for failure are put totally on Southgate.

The current belief is if we are ever going to win a tournament that time is now

Southgate got no credit for reaching the semis of the World Cup and got even less credit for reaching the final in the Euros and only losing out on penalties.

We have reached the quarter yet again under him and all Sourhgate ever gets is criticism.

But in terms of where we have got to in tournaments is in the advanced stages always under him

Most other England managers, we didn't qualify from the group stages on occasions or we didn't qualify for the tournament stages at all.

But I have followed England throughout my life. Probably first one I knew much about was 1982 but we always expect to get to the final stages in recent times and the fans always think our players are super heroes and the country as a whole does always expect us to do very well and in nearly all circumstances, we massively underachieve!!

Whether it's Owen, Rooney, Beckham, Scholes, Gerrard, Lampard, Gascoigne, Shearer, Waddle, Barnes, Lineker, Keegan, Robson, Wilkins, Hoddle.

Or Bellingham, Kane, Saka, Foden.

Think it's fair to say we do all think pre tournaments we expect success, given the players we have. Think that is always true and I think some younger players do completely freeze, understandably under the burden of expectation. Very different to pressures performing at club level.

I am not a fan of defensive football but whatever Southgates faults are such as predictable and dull on occasions, we do always somehow achieve and whether he is the luckiest manager alive or not.

And whatever is said pre tournament, we do always expect and can't see that has ever been any different. Ie we as a general fanbase for England always rate our players and our team way above what we achieve.

England in tournament football is a hard watch.

But whatever people think

World Cup 2018 Semi Finals
Euros 2020 Final
World Cup 2022 Quarter Finals
Euros 2024 Quarter Finals (Minimum)

Better than

Hodgson
Allardyce
Mclaren
Capello
Erickson
Keegan
Taylor
Greenwood
Revie

Only ones felt done better

Venables
Ramsey

Similar to

Robson

My view about England, it's the fans that have ALWAYS been the PROBLEM

We expect to win every tournament playing stunning football

We have the premier league where we watch some amazing football but this is over 40 odd games and the players all know each other's styles well and play with all fantastic players.

What other countries have done better than this, but we always expect incredible football and to win the tournament.

The ENGLAND FANS are and always have been the problem.

We are not going to win this tournament but if we do and everyone not happy with the style, Southgate will still get the CRAP

Absolute joke are England fans

For craps sake - maybe fans could consider the pressure these fans put on these young men and their manager has always meant our players have always crumbled under the pressure.

Support your country, your players and your manager.

England fans always have been an embarrassment
