Just a fun trip down memory lane..............................

Sholto Norman Morrison Moxley..stood as an MP candidate somewhere in Manchester. Occasionally for RE lessons he would take the class to the San Remo on Drake St and buy us a coffee.... Sid Brown lived at the back of the Willbuts Lane stand. Allegedly he was diddled out of thousands by former Dale director and Solicitor David Wrigley.

I agree... disgraceful comments, mocking a Youth team player..however, it says more about the fan than the player.

Who has been associated with Hornets for 70 years as a player, supporter, director, and Chairman, long before he became a Counillor.

Poor state of affairs if true
at 09:08 16 Mar 2023

Brian Johnson did so much hard work for the Dale Lottery, when the club was struggling in the late 70s/ early 80s, the Football Club awarded an annual trophy in his name, to be awarded to the top agent of the year. He really was a top bloke.

Most Under-performing Dale teams?
at 22:29 18 Feb 2023

1965/66 side under Tony Collins...outstanding the previous season, with Jenkins and Morton getting 42 goals between them. Re- election in 65/66.

Unfortunately we have an apathetic Town when it comes to Sport, I think Dale have done well to keep their level of support, considering the results and quality of the team. If that team was in the late 70s the gates would have been below a thousand. As for Hornets I believe they need to move as soon as possible, low gates, little Rugby League funding, no bar income , no car park income and the football club even dictating kick off times, is not sustainable. Grant's and Council support could aide a move, then at least they could manage their own affairs and satisfy the many Dale supporters who never wanted them at Spotland in the first place.

Chairman's Statement
at 07:10 7 Jan 2023

Well said, it's a disgrace that the Premier League has so much power in football, especially the so called top 6 and with the likes of Newcastle joining them, they will have even more power. Listen to Klopp saying he doesn't want FA Cup replays, forgetting that they are the bread and butter of lower league clubs, I can remember the days when Liverpool were a crap Second Division side, grateful for a bob or two.

Very true what you say, the RFL just want ridvif clubs like Hornets, they are suffocating them of finances, next year will be significant as I can see more clubs like West Wales folding.Hope you are right about the Cup games at Spotland..we shall see.

Sadly rugby league at Hornets level is in crisis.9 Home matches is ridiculous and you can see why supporters from all League one clubs, don't feel they are getting value for their money, for Hornets too, I'm told all Cup games have to be played away from Spotland.

They have signed some excellent youngsters on full contracts, from Super League Academy's. Also a number of experienced League 1 players. So hopefully they'll have a good season😊

Well done Doug, just when relations were reasonably cordial....you put your large foot in it and if you think Rochdale losing their League status is going to help Hornets, then you are clearly lacking of basic intelligence.
