Deserves a thread of his own. Played really well for a guy who's new to the team and, you'd have thought, a bit rusty. Nota bit of it. Kept us in the game.

And we're still 4th. None of our rivals for the playoffs winning. Spooky.

Chair song

Been mulling this over at work. Seems to me it has to be a version of 'daddy cool'.

His name (mispronounced) just fits so nicely. Then we'd only need to find one more line.

How about:

Ilias
Ilias chair
Ilias
Ilias chair
Five foot two inches of flair
Ilias

Bees v Hoops match thread
at 10:58 27 Nov 2020

Let me start this one.

I'm sitting by the sea in Dun Laoghaire in beautiful sunshine - and there's no wind. THAT NEVER HAPPENS.

Today is going to be a day of miracles. Things that never happen are happening. We will win on the telly. We will win a London derby. We are going to beat Brentford.

What happens if we keep playing Cameron and Ball together?
at 19:42 21 Nov 2020

Good result today. Very pleasing.

One worry though. I think we should be alternating Cameron and Ball. Playing them together is going to knacker them and risks injury to one or both. And that would leave us with? Bettache? A big ask for him.

There's been lots of talk of squad rotation, the fixture pile up etc, but if we play c and b together again this week, I'll be getting seriously worried.

Bonne and Zimbabwe
at 08:57 6 Nov 2020

There might be something going on. The press in Zimbabwe (accessed through newsnow links) names him as one of three British based players who have refused to fully commit to the national team. Some question mark over whether he'll travel for the Algeria game.

The QPR website's wording on the international call ups could be construed as being a little vague.

Probably nothing. I've work I don't want to be doing.

The Joy of Random
at 09:29 1 Nov 2020

I love it when the R's exceed our expectations.

Team playing badly, desperate for a win, come out and put on a show, then throw it away in the most inept way, desolation, then the final twist and massive celebrations. It would have been one of the great days at HQ.

A result to rekindle interest. I feared we were becoming predictably sh1te, but it looks like we're still exasperatingly random. And I'll take that.

Mostly dross, with occasional flashes of pure beauty. That's the team I've followed since 1978. And that's why following them is fun. That's my QPR.

Amos: mystery solved
at 16:23 13 Sep 2020

I thought Amos played well yesterday. And I think I know where/what he played. Attacking mid? Defensive mid? Both.

Warburton has him playing a defensive midfield role in an attacking midfield position.

Full of energy, closing down, tackles and blocks, interceptions, winning the ball back and making simple passes. Classic defensive midfield skillset. Not what you'd expect from a number 10, which is where he played.

It could be genius. Certainly worked yesterday.

Amos

Is anyone any closer to knowing what Amos does/is supposed to do after today? Genuine question. I didn't watch the game. But I'm struggling to imagine how we might fit Carroll and amos (alongside chair) into the same midfield.

Good luck to him. Always thought he was one of the better players in some pretty awful sides. His managerial career seems to be going well.

For the north against Estonia. BBC say he changed the game when he came on at halftime. Pleased for him. Always seemed a nice guy. More than a bit crap, but a trier. Should help him find a club.

Grant Hall lives!
at 03:15 23 Dec 2018

I see Hall came on after 88 minutes and got ten minutes into his legs, thanks to the ref. Could be good news, but if we hear about a 'niggle' over the next week I'll despair of ever seeing him start again. And he would be forgiven for despairing himself. Fingers crossed for him.
