Current total raised now up to £2.4 K. See some notables have donated, plus some of his teammates. Well done all. My goals bonus scheme now finished, but for one extra push out of the team malaise will now donate £10 for every league WIN up to end of year. Tall order I know, so up the U’s. |

Not one player in the Saturdays squad had come from the Florence Park football factory. The Cowling template on its inception was to have 50/50 side of young and old present in the side. So something is wrong somewhere. Although luckily to be one of the leagues lowest clubs with Category 2 status, playing other clubs at this level to high for there abilities, has overlooking results are nearly all defeats . Clearly the young players picked up for U18 /U21 are struggling at their levels or the rare exceptional be jettisoned into national league level for rapid progress. So perhaps the fixture list should be levelled to play Category 3 sides instead of 2 sides which are nearly all Championship level. Losing to such sides regularly cannot help young players abilities . |

Defence was doing well cutting the box getting across the box , then fall asleep with high wide ball. Two wide men off for the experience of Scully and Anderson. A ball from the byline by Egbo creates the goal, (is that a surprise ) . However Egbo assist cancelled out by deflection of shot which flat foots Macey. Did nowhere enough to win this game, and the hard earnt point midweek is yet again not backed up with a home win. Same mistakes every week, never learnt. Sign of madness . Or is that me thinking this season was going to be better ! [Post edited 26 Oct 15:27]

Jack Thorpe, no longer with club, trailed, Indhoven to the club, hence now 250k better off. Due to being in Cat 2, the majority of coaches are funded by PL. The real question to ask is not the quantity of coaches present, but the quality of players being produced. |

Let’s hope he has a better career than another Ex Nodge striker who we signed - Adrian Coote . U’s spent an afternoon at the Shabby, trying to put one one a plate, only for the barn door to shut ! |

Having missed a game due to the international break, U’s FA Cup game against Swindon will be included in Lyle Taylor bonus scheme, although outside the October remit. So stay sharp Lyle and best wishes with them pink boots getting your and the U’s goal tally higher. |

Many U’s goals remembered in the derby games against Southend, particularly Cureton and Groves, but Winston White scoring the U’s only goal in 1987, in a 2-1 home defeat is well remembered. Juggled a ball on his foot and creamed it into the top corner at the Spion Kop end, a class goal from a class winger, who would walk into the first team now ! Sadly left after the Orient defeat to play back up north, he also played in an infamous testimonial game ? |

Back to square one for the U’s , no improvement of last season. Typical away performance, take what you are given, and shut up shop. More grappling than football in the first half, which the ref strangely did nothing about, and a second half completely devoid of any decent approach play or quality in the box. Two bad sides making up D2 . |

A night of total football. Never missed placed a pass all night. Outclassed from start to finish. Against Jim Smith side that included Bobby Svarc. [Post edited 19 Oct 12:09]

I was changing ends at half time, behind the main stand, the changing room door opens and U’s goalie Ron Willis is stretchered into a nearby ambulance after earlier being carried off. Not a pretty sight, looked like he had done several rounds with Ali . |
