I'm more worried about Pompey. The atmosphere they create there, puts our zombies in the Chapel to shame. [Post edited 9 Mar 14:24]

Re 4. Exactly why I didn't go. People say, aren't we great selling out the away end. No, it's just a load of tourists and Liverpool fans from the south buying up tickets, that our fans aren't buying. Good riddance to the premeier league. Re. 5 - They are what 13 points clear? They managed to create an atmosphere as they are about to win the league. And to top.it off, Pompey look decent and that crowd at Fratton are something else. The whole ground standing up hanging over the advertising boards. We will have to.sort out our sh!t. Nope, couldn't stomach that. We will get slaughtered. I think it genuinely could be ten nil (although, Liverpool might play a load of reserve team players, as they play in Europe I think), so we might get off lightly. Hoping to get tickets for Spurs away tomorrow, more for the day out in London, than the football. |
 | Forum Reply | Maybe Danny Rohl is coming at 21:47 4 Mar 2025
I have a feeling that he would be a good fit (not sure why or where from). Wednesday were cut adrift last season and he galvanised the team. Saints would be a chance for him to really make a name for himself (at a club hopefully aiming for promotion). I would be happy with him but I could be completely wrong.... |
 | Forum Reply | Maybe Danny Rohl is coming at 20:29 4 Mar 2025
I'd be happy with Danny Rohl I think. He is energetic, still relatively young, knows Saints as a club, plays attacking football and is experienced in the Championship. A bit like Ralph in his best times, Rohl is likeable and might get the place going again after this terrible season. He saved Wednesday from relegation last season, when they were dead and buried. Wednesday have a very poor team. I would prefer him to any other random Championship manager or a random from abroad. No chance of Saints appointing anyone like Cooper, who will.make too many demands and will expect PL wages. [Post edited 4 Mar 20:31]

Yes, I wonder what they are saying to each other? RM "It really wasn't my style of play." IJ "Teach me how to play out from the back, please Russ. We were better when you were here. Now they want me out and the players hate me. They all loved you" RM "I would recommend getting yourself sacked, I really would. They just pay you millions for years here. IJ "What you having for lunch?" |

I think Starmer has dealt with things well, in a calm, credible manner. He has seemingly navigated through the tensions between Trump and Zelenski with an impressive maturity. This certainly could improve his poll ratings. But, despite what many think of Trump, he has set the ball rolling to end this war, only a few weeks / months into his presidency. If the war stops, (through bad intentions or not), then the deaths stop - that's a good thing, achieved by Trump, something no other leader could manage. Trump has certainly got the other world leaders off their assess to do something about stopping this war, and quickly. [Post edited 3 Mar 17:34]

I have been pleasantly surprised by how well Starmer has dealt with everything going on over the last few days . Full credit for standing with Zelenski whilst also getting Trump onside. Better to have him onside than not. Keep your enemies closer, as they say, whilst also making it crystal clear we are with Ukraine. Will be interesting to see how things play out. Whatever anyone thinks of Trump, it looks likes a deal with the US and Ukraine is about to be signed. If the war ends, after Trump's intervention, that would be a good thing ofcourse. SaintMartin made the point that if Champions League chasing Chelsea fans can protest, surely the worst team in history should have fans protesting? Our fans just keep on clapping, cheering, smiling and laughing. Like Forest Gump just kept on running our fans keep on smiling 😁 The board think we are very happy and smiley [Post edited 26 Feb 21:50]

Or fans who arnt angry, upset or annoyed that we are losing again. Just happy, smiling, singing for a team that gives nothing back. "You dirty skate bast@@ds we're coming for you". I'm sure Pompey are shaking in their boots. What a stupid thing to sing. [Post edited 25 Feb 21:50]

Spot on. The owners know the fans will put up with it, so it carries on. And the fans who continue to allow this to carry on, don't seem to understand why it's carrying on!!! [Post edited 22 Feb 20:49]

I'm also a season ticket holder, but I'm not sure I can stomach getting thrashed in the next 5 or 6 home games that we have left. And I agree, I think we could be Luton this time next year. Getting over the hangover from this terrible season won't be easy. And we will have a completely different team next year - a bunch if strangers put together by Sport Republic. |

Apart from the obvious well done to those who keep turning up every week to be embarrassed, what iswrong with the fans? We cheer Ketchup like he's a hero. Didn't he go on strike, refuse to play, caused all sorts of problems for RM last season and the rest of it? He came on today, and got absolutely torn apart. The first goal was his fault. Last week, our fans booed Smallbone, the guy who scored in the playoffs last season, always gives his best, been through the youth team, loves the club and he gets stick. I seem to remember some idiot posting about him last year not having any hair. He's not a great player, but are any of them??? Yet, Mr. I'm on strike gets a heroes welcome. And then after a game we could easily have lost 10 nil, not a single bit of discontent against the people who are literally destroying the club. Do our fans not care? Arn't they angry? Well, apart from being very angry at one of our own. They certainly are at Spurs and Leicester. What club's fans would just put up with this every week? Perhaps the fans like the owners (after 2 relegations, 6 failed managers, 45 terrible signings), perhaps they think it's the managers fault, perhaps our fans are very very shy, perhaps they don't care. What an absolute mess. These owners are taking the p!ss. Thousands sat in the fans zones singing along with the band and buying drinks. Many of our lot, just don't care do they. It was very empty at the end. But not any sign of discontent against the owners. Huge protests at Leicester and Spurs. Nothing here, just silence. The fans are very shy. [Post edited 22 Feb 17:46]
