Well the best team one. They passed the ball around quickly and we struggled to get it back. Poor marking for the first 2 goals they scored, unlucky deflection for the last one. Not many positives, but it's just one game. Hopeful Varane and our potential new players can add a bit of pace to us, plus Chair coming back of course, we could be a very different side. End product and bit of quality in the final third definitely missing for us today (apart from our goal), and strangely off defensively for thhe goals. |

This must be a record for earliest time to write someone off - not even a full game! |

West Brom look good I think, they've not created loads but they are getting better going forwards. I feel like they are easily controlling the midfield, I wonder if we will makea change there early on 2nd half. Hard to judge Celar, he can'd do much out of possession and is getting nothing going forwards. Defensively though we've been solid against a good side. I'm nervous for the 2nd half - would definitely take a draw. |

True, and it's definitely not without risk, but I think the scenario of the striker running in is what you want as effectively it then goes out to someone who is free and you've beaten the first press bit. My son's a keeper (only 13) and even at his age they are taught to keep the ball until the striker is near and this pass it out. It feels far worse as a parent believe me! |

I generally like it, but it very much depends on your keeper and other players being comfortable on the ball, running into space, being available for the pass etc. McLaren I think tried it with Ingram in goal and a team not suited to it - it was a disaster and painful to watch. You have to be brave to do it also, as a player and manager. Kicking it long it safer in the short-term and no-one really blames the person giving the ball away at that time, unlike if you do giving it away at passing it out near the goal. If we do it, you have w to accept we will concede a few goals from it, but hope the positives from it outweigh that, and also that the more we do it the better we will get at it. I guess ultimately more possession and a higher chance of keeping the ball doing it this way is the aim. I would as mentioned above still like some variety in terms of chipped passes forward and periodic longer balls to Dunne on the wing - good to keep the other team guessing also. Ultimately I assume there is some analysis somewhere that if you do this right the net outcome is a positive one. Whilst we won't do it as well as Man City etc, it's also true other teams we will play won't punish us as much as a Liverpool or have as good a press. |

I think lots of teams do this, I think it's so Nardi has the ball and can bring it forward if need be, but also if closed down one should be free. I guess like a goalkick only the keeper can move the ball freely effectively. |

Well I thought we did ok, against what in reality is a much better team. Their press was.mucj much better than most teams we will face, and it showed up at times so e of our decision making and showed where we can improve. We clearly wanted to keep practising passing it out from the back, and it won't get much more difficult than today. As a spectacle it wasn't up to much, but a good workout I think. I'm still feeling confident about the season. |

Brilliant piece of business for us, regardless of whether he becomes a superstar or fades away. This is exactly what we have been crying out for, for too long. Seel high, buy cheap. Rinse and repeat. Improve the squad and finances over time. |

I suspect we are waiting to see if we get an offer for JCS, or get any Eze money. Whilst we might miss out on a bargain, I think it's worth the risk to see if we can have more to spend as a good striker could really transform our season. |

Good move all round. Hope it works for him, as if it does, it means we will have a more sellable asset or maybe he can rejoin the fold next season if all is well with him again. Let's hope this is the fresh start everyone needs. |

I suspect his main issue is his injury record. I'm guessing clubs can see how much he has missed, and maybe wonder if he is a diminished player since then or whether it's too risky to sign him and he e the injuries comes back. I'd be happy to sign him personally but relaxed about it. |

Some pretty amazing stuff if the poll is correct (which is might not be of course). Huge Labour majority Tories losing 2/3rd of their seats SNP routed LibDems having not far off half the amount of seats the Tories do Greens up to 2! Hard to believe Reform will get 13 seats - that's my biggest query on this poll, be interesting to see what happens. |

This is what support QPR does to you! No way that is happening here! |

Well I've voted in every election I'm been able to, however today I went in a spoilt my ballot paper. For many many years I've felt I've never had a true vote, so this is my token, admitedly useless, protest vote. I live in a London borough with a huge Labour majority, with a council where 54 of 54 councillors are Labour. I've voted for all major parties in my life, Labour the most times, but just find the whole thing depressing now - Labour gets the same votes here no matter what they do, their policies or who is in charge. I'd love PR of some sort. Will stay up to see some early results but have to be in work for 7am tomorrow so will wake up to see what the majority is, and how bad it has been for the Tories (and maybe the SNP). Whoever you support, it's definitely time for a change, will be better for us all in the long run I suspect. |

Great game that, really wanted Austria to equalise. What a save at the end! |
