| Forum Reply | Is this on Nourry? at 21:38 19 Oct 2024
Hoos and Nourry are both on the executive gravy train and provided they don't f up any big decisions and always say the right things in interviews which is comparatively easy they take their big salaries while the real pressure is on the actual workers ie Marti the staff and the players, it's the same for the most part in the corporate world. I struggled to like Hoos myself for some reason, Nourry I just instinctively prefer. They say what they have to say not what they think so I agree full of shit is pretty accurate. |

Totally agree, Begovic is a very good shot stopper. Personally I would have given him another season between the sticks at Loftus Road. I think Nardi is ok but worryingly think his positioning against WBA for the goals was poor and the fact he conceded a shot from well outside the area on Saturday doesn't convince me he's an upgrade on Begovic at the moment at least. |

Good news, nasty horrible thug who think's he an intellectual for learning to read and write at the age of 35. Looked on the BBC 'Have Your Say' board at lunchtime and couldn't believe every single Gas fan that posted thinks he's total tool and are pleased to see the back of him. Got about as much chance of being the next QPR manager as we have winning tomorrow. |

I wanted to give Gareth until the end of November but this is now getting desperate. Can't see where the next goal is coming from let alone the next point. If we get spanked by Leicester surely time's up. |

Fantastic analysis, data really does paint a picture of a football match(s). I'm not surprised at the results of these metrics it's there for all to see but the data really does give another level of insight. I must admit I thought our strikers have been poor at converting chances, the xG has proved me wrong they are not getting fed enough quality chances (although Lyndon still needs to up his game big time IMO). As a stats and R's fan this has really interested me and I hope another one of these can be done again in the season perhaps end of December? I was also interested to see how poor the xG was for long balls. Back in the 1950's when Charles Reep was pioneering football analytics he said exactly the opposite more goals were scored with 4 passes or less hence the hoof ball football advocated by the English FA all the way into the 1980's. |

Done the dirty on us once, and once is enough. No chance of this happening anyway, fans and owners (and probably players) wouldn't have it and I can't blame them. |

We have got a mid Championship squad at best and GA in my opinion has done OK since the nightmare start we had. Colback and Begovic are decent additions and Cannon looks to be a good signing as well. I'm no tactical genius but we obviously miss Colback and Lyndon needs to make his presence felt far more often in the box, up front is where the problems lie. We need a target man who can get 15 goals, not just with his head. Another problem is that Ainsworth makes a rod for his own back in his interviews where he says 'can't wait to climb the table, we're going to give club x a right good run for their money etc etc' When it doesn't happen he's just given people ammunition to shoot him down but he's obviously passionate and cares. I'd give him more time especially as I'm not sure any other manager could do better!! |
| Forum Reply | What a header by Dykes at 13:21 22 Sep 2023
It was a fantastic header and Lyndon got us a point. My criticism of Lyndon is that who ever is playing up front needs to get goals with both the head and the feet. if the ball's in the air then fine he's always got a chance, but I just don't see enough of him creating chances for himself and when he does the final shot is often not clinical enough. |

I agree, the view from the touchline isn't the best to get a tactical appreciation of the game. In the highly unlikely event I became a manager I would either sit high in the stands or have some from of technology that gave me this view from the dugout/technical area although I don't think GA uses a monitor etc and with all the data and video from each game surely it can be seen what players didn't track back and who remained in offside positions and then they get told not to do it. It seems really simple to me for a professional footballer to track back or stay onside and yet time and time again they don't |

I don't understand why players don't track back or run back to make sure they are not offside. They are young guys paid to keep fit among other things. If you noticed it surely GA would have done and pulled them up on, but it seems alot of players in general do this and I don't understand why managers tolerate it. |

Willock had a quiet game last night in my view, not sure if it's injuries or how he feels as a footballer being at QPR at the moment. Hopefully the former, look forward to him getting back to his best soon. |
