It's more than likely involuntary

Solid quality is required, and your own comms as Chair would serve as a fine example

There's not much danger of falling between two stools

Fine comment

It's not unlikely that the update occurred due to the conversations going after yesterdays AGM. I've been hinting at this since i couldn't get anywhere near (due to the enclosed space the meeting took place in) but knowing those involved in conversation with the directors - and the fact they were looking out at the pitch - i'd be surprised if the matter of communication wasn't raised

Not sure if the penny has therefore dropped (it's been thrown into a void many, many times) but if the ethos of a Community Club is to be realised, it's absolutely essential that the minimum that happens is the kind of update posted today

The clue is in the word "community" - which doesn't exist without communication that all are comfortable with

Cheers, i should've checked the OS, but as expected

By my calculation, just over 290 shares were against the re-election of Tony Pockney

That means the Trust poll would indicate the Trust voted in favour of his re-election

I doubt we'll find out the result of the voting for re-election of directors since any negative result will be offset by the weight of shares in favour (one presumes the majority shareholders are happy with their re-election)

It would still have been interesting to find out the poll result, for one in particular

Left Plymouth "by mutual consent"

Chairman: "Rooney, you're a shit manager"

Rooney: "Aye"

"Informal" conversations looked to be taking place with at least one club director after the AGM, whilst looking out over the pitch...

There was an opportunity to raise questions (pertinent to the business of the meeting) which duly happened, otherwise it would've been 10 minutes

Also, to register a vote

Good view of the pitch from Box 4 (moved from the Ratcliffe) and it looked great in the sunshine...

Surely Wayne Rooney can't last much longer at Plymouth, who've just hit rock bottom in the Championship?

And surely, no other club (at least in the UK) would waste their time giving him yet another chance at management?

Rather than being promoted, if ever a game was being relegated, it's this one

That's why there needs to be accountability

After the post-Bottomley efforts to keep the flame alive by those without substantial resources but who nevertheless put their cash and effort into the Dale cause, we shouldn't be having to make these points again

That's the whole point of having a Trust rep on the board, and it barely needs repeating - it's not working, and that's despite getting answers to questions in retrospect. There needs to be proactive input, but for that to happen, we need Trust input that's proactive

it'd be useful to know who's taking these decisions, and whether it's one individual or as a result of a discussion which the Trust were party to

Agree with this

Turns out, he has a touch of class about him. This is exactly what we need; players who're capable of performing at a higher level. Without them, we won't reach a higher level, and if this is what JM is aiming to achieve with his squadbuilding, it'll be right out of the Hilly playbook

What that entails, is setting players free: to create, to express their talents. I've said it before, Set Them Free JM

Positive signs at Fylde. Let's see how it goes

Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I'd not checked the Trust website, and had said that i didn't need a reply in person from the Trust so hadn't realised it'd been written up (thought it might've been after Christmas)

The Golden Share question has been answered, specifying changes to the Articles of Association required prior to being issued. The important point is in specifying it'll be issued to the Trust, i.e. not any other fans association

I don't see any point is setting up an alternative to the Trust - although others might. It'd just become like the kind of thing our neighbours at Gigg Lane have been doing, with one group vying with the other

That leaves the question of how the Trust can move forward. But first, the Golden Share must become a reality

The key point in all of this is the stated intention by the Ogdens of Dale becoming a "community" club

Any community requires involvement with an enterprise at a level the community itself feels it can support; without that feeling, there is no support, and therefore no community

The Trust, as the primary representative of the wider community (which could extend to the entire town) just HAS to be provided with the right level of information to disseminate, and also provided with sufficient respect to disagree, if its members feel so inclined, without a breakdown in relationships

The alternative is top-down, unengaged, and ultimately failure

I've referred to it, although in an oblique kind of way

It's open to interpretation of course... but (unlike me!) i'd not be inclined to pursue it; may not be in anyone's best interests right now?
