Either last season was his 'Mike Sheron at Stoke' season or it's second season syndrome. A bit of an unknown quantity last season but not now.

Hopefully they have another player already lined up and are tearing up his loan contract as we speak.

Bobby Charlton was player-manager of Preston by then. He left Man Utd in the summer of 1973.

That keeper of theirs has had two fours, a five and a six put past him this season. Today he turns into the bastard love child of Banks and Yashin.

Very sad. A truly great player and fantastic goalscorer. The only Scot to win the Ballon d'Or.

RIP Lawman

Was the use of the swivel chair at weekends, the automatic bottle opener and Mrs Guardiola's recipe for ratatouille included?

Tony Book RIP

Amazing to think he was not far off 30 when he turned pro with Plymouth in the days when clubs took chances on non league players, although Malcolm Allison had managed him at Bath City and took him with him.

Good manager for Man City as well, running Liverpool very close for the first division title the season after we did and also won them their last trophy as well before they became Abu Dhabi FC.

I've stayed as I am since originating on here as CamberleyR despite two house moves, first to Farnborough and now to where I am in Milborne Port, Somerset.

I think in next year's FA Cup draw, they ought to just assign our number to 'bye'...
