People still talk about Oldham's cup runs in 89-90.
They won nothing that year, not the FA Cup (sem-final), the League Cup (final) or promotion (missed out on the playoffs by three points).
Maybe the cup runs cost them a playoff spot.
Maybe the cup runs improved them in the League.
Maybe they wouldn't have won the playoffs anyway.
But they were a joy that year, and won admiration from every club and inspired generations of their own fans along the way.
You can't put a price on honour. |

To be honest, I was in Ireland from 1975 to 1985 and I think I missed the worst of it.
I had a wise and calm bunch of friends and we nearly always managed to avoid violence. But, ya, some away days were grim. And some days we parked the car and got on the LSA bus for safety in numbers. |

Well, I'll say it now, dmm.
This squad is criminally theadbare, and that's with Morgan, Lloyd and Kolli already added to it from the Development Squad, and (you'd know far better than me on this one) not many more we could add if needs be. Another injury or two, and even Marti would struggle to keep us going.
Results are good now, but you don't wait to fix your roof until the Rolling Stones make omelettes with broken eggs, and that's a fact. |

I'd agree that we can't judge him on that particlaur incident. As you say, we don't know what the instructions were at that stage of the game.
I think we can say, though, that so far this season his work-rate has been, shall we say, somewhat erratic? |

It's not just British fans, either, is it Clive?
Attacking the ball is a key tenet of Cifuentes' Cryuffian model.
Earlier in the season, we were dreadful at it, attacking the ball in ones or twos, with some lads slacking. Madsen looks really bad now because most if not all of his team-mates have got their finger out. |
