| Forum Reply | Was Prestons goal totally against the morals of the game at 10:40 23 Dec 2024
The only unfair thing about that incident was that it lead to a one on one from which they scored - otherwise they had no hope of scoring against us on Saturday as they were very very poor. The "air of injustice" that followed the incident at least got the home crowd fired up and hopefully the team used it at half time to go out and put it right. |

I'll tell you how good we were Brian. In the BBC report of the game, in the managers' comment section, they quote Heckingbottom saying 3 times how good QPR were. Admittedly he complained about the ref being a "homer" and giving us everything, but that aside he knew we played them off the park. So for a manager to actually have to admit we were good, we must have been good. As regards the ref, I thought, if anything, he was way too lenient with the way Preston tried to kick us off the park for most of the game. Perhaps the sending off was a tad harsh but that second goal was coming and the sending off didn't really change the game with only 10mins. You could smell it in the air those last 10mins that we would get the 2nd goal. Let's hope Steve Cook has a fast recovery as he has been immense for us in that back 4 throughout. |

I know of one example from a very close sauce that one particular dad of a current England international was an absolute shark in dealing with the clubs personally and was sorting out the right spec Mercs for both him and his Mrs and the 4 bedroom detached house that they would move to with their 15yr old son once they signed and moved norf! |

Funnily enough I totally disagree with this point. What I think, again just like everyone else on here - i.e. having no actual facts about what goes on within the club - is that what Kolli Snr and some on here are asking for is bigger bucks based on potential as opposed to earning the bigger money once you have made the progression from youth to development to first team and proven you are the real deal on a Saturday or winter Tuesday night in Barnsley. Both CN and Marti have passed guarded comments that Rayan knows what he has to do to progress in to the first team and that was accelerated on Tuesday night when Zan had to go off. So he came on and delivered, if Frey and Celar are still not fit this Weds night and he starts again and comes on and has another great game then his stock rises having proven he can do it. Guessing........ I think the big hair comes with a big personality/ego and he has been strutting around the place (maybe his dad telling him he is too good for QPR bench) and thinks he is the next great thing and this is merely a stepping stone for him to bigger things. Daddy is telling the 27yr old DOF to break the bank and sign his son on big wages as he is brilliant otherwise they will go to somewhere where he will be appreciated. Someone said on here after Saturday's game about him being the next Adel....... not sure if that was supposed to be a good or a bad thing because an Adel brings both joy and frustration. Hoping Kolli does start again on Weds, smashes Oxford to pieces and then proves to the club that he is the new messiah and not just a very naughty boy! |

Soon as their awful goal went in I closed all the browser windows and went and played my bass guitar for the rest of the first half - just can't do it to myself so soon after Tuesday night. Will give the 2nd half a go, but if it gets to 0-2 then its back to the bass. Just cannot have another season of this anymore. |

If I thought it would do any good I would cancel my monthly direct debit as a protest and state that the vendor has not provided sufficient quality of product to have fulfilled their contractual obligations. The reality is that the club would not even find out about it and I would end up in a small claims court as the debt is owed to a finance company not the club. Sat there tonight at half time remonstrating with myself for doing this to myself after a shït day at work instead of sitting at home staring at a blank wall for more enjoyment. I left at 3-1. Fcuuuk ‘em, the lot of them. |

Agreed, with the exception of the 3 centre backs who at least are throwing everything away from the goal. We literally cannot string 2 passes together outside of our own box. |

Symth definitely pulled that ball back towards Morgan and did not miss-hit that cross. You see him turn his head in all the replays of the goal on the socials. Thought Symth was very good last night. He will now start getting stick for putting crosses in to "dangerous areas" "when there is nobody there". Jury is still out on Celar but as the Sky team said after the game "12 touches in the whole game" is not going to win him any goals or plaudits. |

Which makes me think had we played a full strength team and been less passive from the start that they would have simply realised earlier that they were in a real game and had to get into higher gear - with the same result. We will never know unless we try. I felt at times Eze was easing up and playing at a very relaxed pace, even for him. |

No the team would have been stronger and you are right. Proving that 3 points in the league is their priority over a cup run unfortunately. |
